Today is the first order cycle for the 2027 model year and we are taking a close look at the constraint report that dealers received today. Ordering is open for the Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1 while the ZR1X is showing zero allocations this cycle. That doesn’t really surprise us as they’ve been doing ZR1X allocations off the books anyways so we’re not really sure what is happening when it comes to ordering America’s favorite new hypercar.
What we do know is that dealers have been able to submit 2027 Grand Sport orders today. The signature Admiral Blue exteriors are showing extremely low quantities, but the good news is that they have been reserved specifically for Grand Sport orders as GM does its usual ramp up with new exterior colors. As for Pitch Gray Metallic, it was listed as zero (0%) across the board, so perhaps in the next order cycle or two we will see the new Gray exteriors finally make an appearance.
Carbon Fiber aero constraints abound and impact all models except the Stingray. The Stingray does have a new (TOA) Z51 spoiler, but I have no quantity info on it. GM is showing an 85%-15% split for the ZR1’s high wing which is great news for those that want the Carbon Fiber Aero Package, but the J59 Alcon brakes are still MIA which means no ZTK Performance Packages for the track enthusiasts.
Chevrolet still hasn’t openly stated when exactly the 2027 Corvettes will start production, but we are still thinking it’s the week of June 8th. Production for the 2026 models ends on May 29 which they have stated, and we know some dealers who have 2026 orders being built during that final week. The plant will also be taking a week off starting on June 1st for what is being called supplier-related closing.

Thanks Keith for the up to the minute news! Much appreciated!
Same old song and dance.
Love my Corvettes. I’ve had 5 and thinking on the exciting new 2027 GS to slot in as my 6th.
Something that has bugged me though is why a C8 weights about 240 lbs more than my C7.
When you eliminate the front to rear exhaust and drive shaft from the front engine C7 to the mid engine C8, logic would dictate the C8 should weigh less than a C7 certainly not more ???
