[VIDEO] 2025 Corvette ZR1 Runs Against a Tesla Plaid at Orlando Speed World

The next video from the Wheeler/DragTimes collaboration dropped on Saturday morning and we have both videos for you here. The first of the matchups featured the ZR1 racing a Lamborghini Revuelto with the Lambo winning two of the three races. Now we are back to see if the ZR1 can handle one of the fastest electric vehicles on the planet.

And the answer is no.

It was a very hot day in Orlando when these guys got together at Orlando Speed World and Christian (Wheeler) knows that the Plaid already has an advantage due to its AWD and the fact that it likes the heat while the ZR1 doesn’t. Nevertheless, he’s willing to give it a try.

However, when you look at the first comment on the YouTube page, Wheeler pinned a comment and wanted to apologize for the cars poor performance. He says he should have run the car by himself to get familiar with it and dial it in before meeting up with Brooks. He also says he didn’t give it enough time to cool down between races, and this matchup comes after 8 back to back runs.

Here are the results from the first run that I will share which was the ZR1s best time of the three runs and it would go progressively slower probably due to heat soak and as Christian said, by not giving it adequate time to cool down.

Despite these results and the fact that Wheeler says its been years since he’s been the track, we just want to encourage him to keep at it. Just about any Corvette enthusiast would say screw the results and take the ZR1 over the Plaid, and we are one of them!

  1. ZR1 owner needs to wait for much cooler weather, cool it off between runs , remove anything that creates downforce, actually a whole bunch of little things to improve ET and MPH.

  2. Note to ZR1 driver – a helmet does no good if not fastened properly (comes off in an impact) and can do more damage to the head.
