Don’t shoot the messenger, just sharing what’s already out there!
These pics making the rounds of social media show a 2026 Corvette E-Ray wearing the new Roswell Green Metallic exterior and its the first opportunity to see the upcoming shade. Unfortunately, the lighting isn’t very good and the exterior appears to be more Army Green than Roswell Green Metallic.
We’ll just blame the lighting conditions and camera as we think the green will be much lighter like we saw when the sun was on the Roswell Green sample during the NCM Bash. That sample color showed off a gold metallic reflection that we think will make the car look even brighter when shown in the sun. I don’t think this photo is representative of what we will actually see.
We can see from the A-pillar that the interior appears to be dipped Natural which may the default pairing for the color, but Sky Cool Gray and Jet Black would also color-coordinate well especially with yellow stitching. If you’re thinking of pairing it with Habanero, that’s probably a D30 Color Override charge.
GM elected to share the color on the E-Ray and they optioned it with the carbon flash exterior trim and black wheel which should offer a nice contrast to the Green. As this is the first sighting, perhaps this will be one of the show cars of the upcoming model year? Maybe we’ll see it at one of the races or at Carlisle later this year.
So what do you think, Corvette Nation? I almost hate asking you to judge a new color by a poor photo, so perhaps we stick to generalities? Are you excited to see a new green on the C8 Corvette? Just as a reminder, here is that sample from the NCM shown in the sun. Let us know in the comments below.

Hysteria’s paint samples at the bash are a pretty good indication. The car looks far more like the sample in the shade than the sample in the sun. Meaning that Hysteria does look purple–but a very dark purple in most pics. It rarely looks bright enough to be blurple.
Roswell will be the same. It won’t look bright green except in rare instances. Most of the time, it will look baby poop green. It won’t ever look like BRG lime rock green. And even with the sun shining, it won’t be grabber green or anything truly bright.
GM is answering the demand for color–where there is appetite on both the darker and brighter ends of the spectrum–with a single hue that satisfies neither. Already happened with purple, now it is happening with green. It would be better to do as was done for yellow–and offer one for a few years, then swap to the other.
Color does not seem to be their forte Color research is a science and so is the name It should be what the color looks like This blurriness in specifics does not help selling a terrific car It only inhibits and confuses people with unclear images and Tampa down excitement when color should be an important selling point I hope they wake up to the importance of this one day
What’s wrong with gm and there colors. Does no one have any taste
I think it’s even worse than the Caffeine Brown that died early death. 10 or 12 may buy it just to prove they’re different strokes and different folks.
Why do they even do this? Here’s an idea…Start by painting EXP vehicles with different colors and shades thereof that the Corvette consumers/customers have been begging for since they are going to get crushed anyway. Then every year, sprinkle in a few new colors and let the engineers drive them around for a while with a number on the car that corresponds to the paint color. Get pictures/videos and post them all over Corvette sites and let the YouTubers do the same on their videos to get some metrics on what people do/don’t want. Maybe not the best idea in the world, but it has to be better than what GM is doing now. 🤷♂️
If Roswell Green looks like that out in the real world when the car isn’t in the sun, then that’s a terrible color for the C8.
Roswell Green worst color ever. Keep it in the can.
DO NOT CARE for the “ROSWELL GREEN”… looks like “Army Green”
I support our Military — as a disabled Veteran MARINE — but NOT on a Corvette !!
The “color Samples” on a stick, look interesting… BUT the car in the picture looks like “combat
Green”… I have seen several GREEN Corvettes in various shades, in the past.
One was a C3 that was custom-painted in a bright green metalflake that was good for a “Show Car” … but I did not like it as a street car. But the Darker Green in the picture is definitely not attractive in my personal opinion…
At least it’s better than Cacti or Caffeine. I would like to see a British racing green. Lamborghini has some out there colors, but that’s their signature.
They needed Mclaren Flux Green, they got Drab Green instead. GM is so insecure about having done a mid-engine Corvette (for good reasons actually) their colors are ultra conservative. Not what the c8 needs. If the gen 6 v8 is DOHC I’ll live with it but GM Authority says it’s OHV. Forget GM, they’ll be building an OHV gen 100 in Oct. 2054.
Green does not go well on any Vette. And hey, GM, maybe start building cars for customers and 2025 earnings will benefit.
Color perception is highly subjective and certain colors may have an ancient universal significance, such as the association of green and jealousy. As marketing specialist know, the the way that our brain perceives color has an impact on and can manipulate are decision making. We are unconsciously persuaded by colors we like and reject those we dislike and this in turn affects not only in our mood and emotions but also our buying practices. It seems that we react to color much more than we realize.
Many thanks,
Ray
Right to the facts Ray,good comment. Green in race cars was always perceived as a bad omen. Not sure why 3 of my last 5 Corvettes were black. Time for some reflection I guess.
1965’s Glenn Green, 1968’s British Green or 1969’s Fathom Green would really work. They are subtle, they would completely suit the C8’s aesthetic plus they are timeless.
Roswell green is neither here nor there.
If they’re wanting to do a hot green to satisfy demand….do a HOT green
