The Michelin NCM Bash is usually the event where Corvette enthusiasts come to find out all about the next model year and all the new stuff we expect to see. While GM didn’t bring out a 2026 Corvette to reveal the new revised interior, they did share the news about two new colors coming and two popular colors going away.
The announcement was made during the “What’s New with Corvette” seminar on Friday afternoon hosted by Executive Chief Engineer Tony Roma and Chevrolet Marketing Director Amy Masica.
The two new colors are called Roswell Green Metallic and Blade Silver Metallic, which returns to the lineup after being featured on the 2020 Corvette.
With Chevrolet keeping the color line-up to 10 total colors, that means two colors are being retired. They are Rapid Blue Metallic which has been on every C8 Corvette since its introduction, and Sea Wolf Gray which had a two year run over the 2024 and 2025 model years. The retirement of Sea Wolf Gray is somewhat shocking as its currently a Top 5 color. Rapid Blue on the other hand is currently the lowest selling color for the 2025s.
After making the announcement, members from the Corvette Assembly Plant brought out the painted “frogs” displays which are used to demonstrate the new colors
As far as reactions go, so far it appears that enthusiasts do like the new Roswell Green color, which to us reminds us of that Minted Green NFT Corvette that the Corvette team attempted to sell via crypto back in 2022. Unfortunately, the promotion fizzled and the car was never built.

Dumb color swap. Harlan is out and look what happens!
WOW, I’m sure glad I did not drive all the way from Scottsdale, Arizona to Bowling Green this weekend just for another old Silver color for the next 2026 Corvette, along with an algae colored shade that’s in the pastel green color family which has never sold more than a low quantity in the past generations of Corvettes:
Cacti – 1,179 Corvettes produced in 2024
Lime Rock Green – 1,566 Corvettes produced in 2014
Fairway Green Metallic – 155 Corvettes produced in 1997 / 223 produced in 1998
Dark Bowling Green – 1,663 Corvettes produced in 2000 / 919 produced in 2001
How embarrassing for the Corvette Team to pick out these unpopular Green colors!
Perhaps the new Corvette Engineer can create a clinic of young and older Corvette OWNERS in Bowling Green to prepare new exciting and popular colors for the upcoming Corvettes and stop relying on their Color Expert to pick a new shade of green that historically does not sell many new Corvettes.
Please somebody on the Corvette Team – go get the House Of Kolors paint chip chart, the PPG Radiance color chips, the Sikkens colors and look at these beautiful colors from Dave Kindig in his Modern Classikk line of colors that he is using on the outrageous CF1 hotrod 1953 Corvettes at modernclassikk.com/products –

We are paying enough money on all four new Corvette models to warrant some great colors instead of the tired old crap each year.

For a green, try something like that was on the Camaro; Shock or Krypton or Synergy (2011) Green. No loss in dropping “smurf” blue.
That shade of green has always been associated with someone who is seasick & puking over the handrail in movies. Aha isn’t it so nice to have a bunch of no car acumen women running GM these days?????? With more coming each day it seems.
The 2 new. and 2 going away colors would have never been on any of my Corvettes. Black,Red,Black,and Black were my choices,maybe a Red Mist this next go around.
I’m at the Bash. The attendance is low. The enthusiasm for these 2 colors even lower! Now IF GM had come out with a new MANUAL transmission announcement, I would have shelled out a full price for a C8Z06 on the spot!
The Corvette Team is still doing it all wrong when it comes to new colors. Roswell Green Metallic isn’t the right shade of green for Corvettes and there’s no sense in rehashing boring Blade Silver Metallic. I am glad to see Sea Wolf Gray and Rapid Blue go away. I never liked either one of them.
Personally I miss ceramic matrix but…. It was always a low number. But it’s always nice when people wave you down and sincerely ask what color is that.
As for Rapid Blue, it’s in the numbers the Green sour 🍏 comes to mind. There will be the Lambro want to bes that will want it.
Our first Bash. While we always enjoy our times at NCM, we are disappointed in the overall presentation by GM. We expected to come away with some enthusiasm for pulling the trigger on a new Vette. Instead GM hyped the ZR1 development, which we appreciate but is unobtainum for most of us mortals, and threw us a bone with the two new colors. Personally not thrilled by either of them. GM was very evasive and guarded in answering questions regarding anything for 2026. Bad vibes. Not sure I would go again.
Sorry to see all the negative replies regarding Rapid Blue, at least its not the same old colors everyone gets, agree regarding the Green and Silver (new colors) every corvette is cool in the eyes of the owner
I’ve always been in the camp that a sports car should be a bright color. I’ve never understood the white and various shades of gray. I do give black a pass. So far, I’ve been Bryar Blue, 2-yellows, and yes, Rapid Blue. This alien green, however, no way!
Ugly geen and silver doesn’t pop.How about deep cranberry satin pearl or dark midnight blue metalic similar to 1980 z28

Got to keep up with Lamborghini with weird colors. Saw a caffeine C8 yesterday and it looked like a turd.

Glad to see the Primer Gray aka Seawolf Gray go away! A most ugly color for a sports car. Better suited to hot rods under construction or soccer mom SUV’s. I love my Torch Red Grand Sport.
Gotta love it. Fans wanted a proper purple; GM delivers blurple. Fans wanted a proper green (British Racing Green)–either a darker, rich green…or a vibrant, fluorescent green; GM delivers….this. And let’s be clear, this isn’t even as desirable of a green as the stripes on the 2025 Festival Car Stingray’s.
At this point, I am only going to shop used. The purpose of buying factory is to build in a way that is not commonly spec’d. But it’s far cheaper to just buy random color–used–and color-change PPF it. GM is hellbent on offering a glut of fugly colors.
Remember how everyone felt last year at the BASH when Hysteria was displayed. Horrible comes to mind.
And now when you see a Hysteria Corvette, everyone goes Oooo aaaah!
So don’t be too harsh on the Sour 🍏.

Who the hell is Amy Masica and why is she Marketing Director? Anybody doing that job at Corvette should instantly know better than to offer a loser like Roswell Green. That includes the new so-called Executive Chief Engineer.

Never ever liked any greens other than the real dark green of way back when, and I never could understand how Rapid Blue lasted as long as it did. Glad to say see ya on that color along with Sea wolf (battleship) grey.
Color choice by these clowns has been a problem ever since the 5th generation Corvettes. Case in point…..the C5 pace car. That color scheme was perfect for the infamous Ronald McDonald to cruise around in…….
