I’m biased of course, but I think anyone interested in the occasional drag racing outing should be taking a look at the All-Wheel Drive Corvette E-Ray. Chevy already made the C8 better with more than 60% of its weight over the rear wheels to improve putting the rubber to the road, but the addition of the eAWD is a game changer as now your front wheels are pulling you straight while the rear wheels are just getting going.
Mike Brink of the Brink of Speed YouTube Channel recently took part of a private track event with Roshan of Boost District. Roshan was testing multiple E-Rays and their Stingray at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas, and invited Mike to try his luck with his own E-Ray. Mike says that while he used to drag race quite a bit with his C6 Z06 back in the day, most of that was on the street and so this was his first try at a prepped track with the 655-hp Corvette E-Ray.
What Mike found was that the Corvette E-Ray shows both impressive speed and consistency with each of his three runs coming in at 10.7. With the prepped track, there was absolutely no tire slip at all. Mike goes on to talk about how the E-Ray is a phenomenal platform for both casual and serious racers, and it would be easy to see how people catch the racing bug when you have an all-wheel drive Corvette ready to take down the competition!
While Roshan was there, we didn’t see much from his tests with his nearly 1300-hp Corvette E-Ray, so keep an eye on the Boost District channel to see if comes up in the near future.

In before local window licker denizens post something about “just buy a Tesla” and immediately return to their Z06 circle jerk.
Not wanting to watch 15 minutes, I scrolled through. It looks like they were trying to hide the mph, which seemed to be around 120 mph. That’s less than what I expected.
EV’s have ruined the drag strip. It’s no longer how you can tweek an engine to get the right HP on the ground, but how much money you want to spend to win every division. It’s now a pay to win sport. No more fun.
