Johor Motorsports Racing wrapped up another strong weekend in the Intercontinental GT Challenge, taking a hard‑earned Pro‑Am podium at the 2026 Suzuka 1000KM. The No. 99 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R delivered a clean, disciplined run from start to finish, securing P2 in class and 12th overall after 1,068km of racing at one of the world’s most demanding circuits.
HH Prince Jefri Ibrahim, HH Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim, and JMR Pro driver Ben Green combined for a faultless six‑and‑a‑half‑hour effort. After qualifying third in class the night before, Prince Jefri took the start on a damp track and managed the early shuffle as the Corvette briefly slipped to P5. Green’s mid‑race stint proved pivotal, pushing the No. 99 back into P2 before the halfway mark.
From there, the trio focused on consistency and track position—no drama, no mistakes, just steady execution. Their runner‑up finish also earned them third place in the Independent Cup, adding another trophy to JMR’s growing 2026 haul.
The JMR Pro lineup of Scott McLaughlin, Nicky Catsburg, and Alexander Sims spent nearly the entire race in podium contention aboard the No. 2 Corvette Z06 GT3.R. After starting P8, the team wasted no time charging forward. Strong early pace and clean pit work vaulted the car into the top three, where it remained a threat throughout the daylight hours.
As darkness fell, the fight tightened. Despite staying in the hunt, the podium slipped away in the final hour, leaving the trio just off the rostrum in P4. It wasn’t the repeat of last year’s podium they were chasing, but it was another display of the Corvette’s speed and the team’s race‑craft.
The Suzuka result caps an exceptional season for JMR’s Corvette program. Across 2026, the team earned:
• A top‑three finish at the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour
• Runner‑up at the 50th anniversary Suzuka 1000KM
• A standout overall victory at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa
• A successful debut finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans
With another Pro‑Am podium now added to the list, JMR closes the year as one of GT3 racing’s most consistent and competitive Corvette squads.
