A project C3 with most of the heavy lifting already done is up for sale on eBay.
This 1969 Corvette Stingray coupe was a California car that had been stored in a garage since 1998 before the seller obtained it.
Now that “most of the expensive work” has been done, he’s offering the incomplete car for sale on eBay, where he has a “Buy It Now” price of $28,000. So far, 17 bids have also been placed, reaching a high of $16,100 with the auction coming to an end on Friday.
This vintage Stingray reportedly retains its numbers-matching 427 tri-power engine, and it’s been “completely rebuilt with all new parts,” including all roller parts, the addition of aluminum heads (with the originals included), and carburetors sent to Holley Performance to be rebuilt. Now, this behemoth creates 570 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque on pump gas, according to a dyno test.
The four-speed Muncie manual transmission underwent a rebuild with all new parts, along with the rear end with 3.53 positraction.
Other new parts include Hooker Comp Plus Ceramic headers, rear trailing arms, all three wiring harnesses, along with the front suspension and brackets for the front lights, bumpers, and wipers that have all been powder coated. Power steering and power brakes have also been added, and the rims are original A1 code with new BFGoodrich tires.
The seller says the body is in “good shape” without need for very much prep work for new paint. No photos of the interior are included with the listing, and based on a little sleuthing from the exterior pictures, looking through the windshield, it appears that some major work still remains in that area.
The car does roll to make it easier to get home and continue what the current owner says would make “a great father-son project,” adding that once completed, it will be a “beautiful rare car.”
