It was on November 1st that I took delivery of my new 2025 Corvette E-Ray from Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet and doctors are still trying to figure out how to remove the smile from my face. I am closing in on 1300 miles already, and the E-Ray is simply a joy to drive!

Let me share a quick story from today, and then I’ll get to the Easter Egg.

Earlier today I had to run out to Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City as they did the install for my new Wheel Craft bright Chrome wheels. I can’t rave about them enough, and will have some more to share on those soon, but here’s a preview:

As we were driving home on I4, we hit some showers as a cold front was coming through today. It was my first opportunity to use the windshield wipers, and more importantly, Weather Mode! Soon the showers turned into near white-out conditions as it was raining so hard that you could barely see the vehicle in front of the car, yet it was still very bright out. The E-Ray with its AWD and Michelin All-Weather tires had no trouble whatsoever with all the water on the roads. I didn’t feel any drifting, hydroplaning, or anything else that made me feel like I wasn’t in control. Once upon a time ago I was asked why I needed AWD in Florida and the first thought that came to my mind was the sudden thunderstorms we get down here. Having proved that theory correct today, I am confident that the E-Ray is the perfect C8 Corvette for me.

So yeah…I drove my Corvette in the rain. It didn’t melt.

I’ve been driving my E-Ray with a Maryland temporary tag since delivery, and this week I finally received my official Florida license plate in the mail. I’m going to eventually order a vanity license plate for the car, and I have a list that’s about 15 entries long. But for now, a regular tag from the Free State of Florida will do just fine.

The Maryland temporary tag was already on the car when I picked it up from Mike so I had no reason to suspect anything. However, when I removed the temp tag, I found a Zora Head waiting for me! How cool is that!

For any dealer reps who want to learn a couple of cool tips from the nation’s top Corvette seller, it’s the little things like this that go a long way! Thanks again for that surprise, Mike!

  1. I really like the 5 spoke wheel design for the E-Rays better than any other Corvette wheels past or present. I saw a Torch Red E-Ray with the polished factory 5 spoke on a drive by Vlog right after they were 1st delivered & they just flashed like diamonds. Right then I decided I would order my E-Ray with the factory no cost wheels & swap them out for the Chrome Wheel Craft 5 spokes. Unfortunately even though I had the 1st allocation & that dealership got an allocation for the 1st order cycle the factory wheels were on constraint so my order got bypassed & the dealer never got another E-Ray allocation for 2024. I was lucky enough to pick up a 2024 E-Ray at a $8619 discounted price but unfortunately it had the $15500 Red stripe VCF wheels which I won’t change out. I can only imagine how beautiful your car is with the Chrome 5 spokes. Congratulations on your good judgement. Would you consider making a video of your E-Ray driving by at a speed like you were in a Chevy dealers parking lot with the sun shining on your car & posting it on Corvette Blogger.

  2. Keith, Congrats on your new beautiful C8! The 5 spoke Chrome and the purple color, really makes the car pop, great choice. I have chrome rims on my C6, I know its old school, but looks great. Good luck with it, enjoy it and most importantly, drive it!
