Mecum Auctions’ 2024 road show rolls into Harrisburg, PA next week. The 4-day event kicks off Wednesday, July 24th and runs through Saturday, July 27th at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. Mecum expects 1,200 vehicles to cross their famous red carpet next week in Harrisburg.
As we go to press, nearly 800 cars are already consigned to the sale. Of those, we found 89 Corvettes that are eagerly awaiting your bids. We typically see Corvettes make up 10% of a given Mecum docket, so Harrisburg looks to be right on track with that trend. All 8 generations of Corvettes are represented on the docket and we expect a few more to be added as the sale draws nearer. The diverse lineup includes a great mix of original, restored, and custom Corvettes as we’ve come to expect from the Mecum team at each sale. Here’s how the Corvettes breakdown by generation.
Here’s a look at six Corvettes to keep your eye on next week in Harrisburg.
Lot S113 – 1953 Kindig-It CF1 Roadster
Built by Kindig-It Designs, CF1 #12 is more commonly known as Caduceus. The custom carbon fiber body wears perfect red paint over a custom saddle leather interior. The hand-built roadster is powered by a Lingenfelter LS V8 engine sporting a polished velocity stack-style intake and bronze finned valve covers.
The exterior features a custom rounded 1-piece windshield and chrome trim work. Inside we see custom saddle leather bucket seats, a 2-spoke flat bottomed steering wheel on a tilt column, and A/C is provided by Vintage Air.
The Kindig CF1 has polished 5-spoke custom wheels with knock-off style center caps on all four corners. Hiding behind them are 4-wheel disc brakes with dimpled and slotted calipers.
Lot F42 – 1963 White / Black Air-Conditioned Convertible
This highly original 1963 Corvette Convertible is powered by a 327 CI V-8 engine that’s bolted to an automatic transmission. A Positraction rear differential transmits power out to the rear wheels. In addition to the dealer installed air conditioning, other options include new power brakes, a tinted windshield, power steering, tinted windows, an AM radio, new whitewall tires, and a matching white hardtop.
The Corvette was recently serviced, including the spark plugs, points, condenser, distributor cap, and rotor. Additionally, the fluids in the engine, transmission, and differential have been changed as well. The carburetor has been rebuilt and the gas tank was replaced with a new unit.
The sale includes an owner’s manual plus the all-important assembly and shop manuals.
Lot F140 – 1964 Red / Black Fuelie Convertible
Lot F140 is a 1964 Red/Black Convertible that was built on December 24th, 1963. It matches Santa’s sleigh with its red paint and complementary black interior. The matching numbers, fuel-injected 327/375hp V-8 is 1 of only 1,325 produced for the 1964 model year. A matching numbers M21 4-speed manual transmission and 3.70 Positraction rear end complete the drivetrain.
The midyear features power steering, knock-off wheels, leather seats, an AM/FM radio, and a backup light. The frame is said to have been restored to NCRS standards.
Lot S258 – 1967 Maroon / Black 350hp Convertible
This 1967 convertible’s AO Smith body is finished in handsome Marlboro Maroon over a black interior with a white soft top. It was built in March of 1967 and shows just over 20,000 miles on the clock. A matching numbers L79 327/350hp engine, 4-speed manual transmission, and 3.36 rear gear comprise the drivetrain.
The car received new paint and carpet in 2023. Additional features include power steering, power disc brakes, a tinted windshield, an AM/FM radio, and rally wheels wrapped in whitewall tires.
Lot S76 – 1968 Blue / Black L89 Convertible
Offered from the Holden Grace Collection, this rare 1968 Corvette is 1 of only 624 Corvettes produced with RPO L89 aluminum cylinder heads in 1968. Its configuration is documented with the tank sticker, window sticker, and a bill of sale.
The Lemans Blue over black Corvette was ordered new at Buster Miles Chevrolet in Heflin, Alabama. The lengthy options list includes the L89 engine, M21 4-speed manual transmission, a AM/FM radio, wheel covers, redline tires, and a removable body color hardtop. Documentation includes ownership history and restoration photos that include the secondary VINs on the frame.
Lot S262 – 2006 Yellow / Gray Z06 Coupe
The 2006 model year was the 2nd year of the C6 generation and the debut of the Z06 model. The new top dog Corvette featured a huge 7-liter engine pumping out 505hp. It was available in coupe-form only with a 6-speed manual transmission. The aluminum frame and carbon fiber fenders lowered mass as well as the center of gravity for enhanced performance.
This 3,550 mile example is one of just 1,464 Z06s painted Velocity Yellow in 2006. The interior is finished in two-tone titanium and black leather. Today it presents in impressive condition and the sale includes the owner’s manual and window sticker.

The Kindig-It CF-1 shouldn’t even be classified as a Corvette because it’s not even a Corvette. It’s a full custom made from the ground up expensive car that bears a strong resemblance to the 53-55 Corvettes that it was modeled after.
Good point.
