Dream big or go home.
Gas Monkey’s Richard Rawlings and GMTV Garage host John Clay Wolfe have gambled on cars over the years and won big enough times to make a decent living … but also have lost big other times.
Will their latest venture be a winner or a loser? Find out as the guys take their YouTube viewers on a trip to a secret location in Wisconsin, where a lady is trying to sell off her late husband’s collection of more than 20 cars (mostly Corvettes) and two boats, all as one big lot.
A lot of the vehicles haven’t been cranked up in 20 years, the widow admits, and a green C2 Corvette is the most recently started – and that was eight years ago!
The woman has been taking the advice of an appraiser and says she will need $800,000 for everything, but the guys aren’t too keen on that number – figuring they’ll have to spend $50,000 just to haul them back home – so they’re closer to $600k, maybe $700k. That doesn’t begin to mention what it would take to get them all running again.
At one point, Richard comes up with a possible solution – buy all the cars and boats PLUS the five acres they’re sitting on.
“The play is to buy it all, where it sits,” he suggests to his partner, “and have a big-ass party and auction right here on the property ‘Just Discovered,’and sell it all with the hype.”
That would even include several trailers parked on the land – full of furniture and computers and other “stuff” from an eight-story office building the husband used to own 20 years ago.
The biggest problem for the guys, however, turns out to be the frigid weather in Wisconsin. After being told it’s not uncommon to see the thermometer hit 25-below zero there, they start to worry about the life span of antifreeze and how over the past 20 years the unprotected engine blocks might have been cracked due to the extreme cold.
So, after all the back-and-forth between the guys and their other team members, as well as the widow, how does this negotiation wind up? You’ll just have to watch the video like we did to find out, but you’ll definitely be surprised at the end.

Richard Rawlins is a douche bag and he’s an A-hole. His show sucked too happy it’s not on anymore. Two ass clowns with to much money.
I wouldn’t let those dirt bags anywhere near my property.
Aaron Kaufman made Richard Rawlings rich and famous. When Kaufman left the show, Rawlings fell apart.
These two shysters want to steal those cars for .50 on the dollar. Hope the woman stays firm on her prices. She should call “Corvette Mike”.
