[ACCIDENT] C6 Corvette Driver is Extracted after Crash with the Jaws of Life

We always hate to see any Corvettes involved in accidents, but even more so when the car has to be ripped apart to free the driver.

That’s what happened to this C6 Corvette coupe that rammed into a support pole for a traffic signal.

As the driver looks on through the window, a firefighter bounces the Jaws of Life off the car several times, eventually wedging it between the door and rear fender. Then we hear the awful crunching begin as the life-saving tool goes into action and pries open the door, cracking the fender in the process.

The driver apparently couldn’t exit his Corvette the usual way, with the front smashed against the pole which may have pushed it backwards against the door to keep him from opening it.

Still, Instagram readers wondered in the comments section why he didn’t just crawl through the driver’s side window (breaking it if there was no power) or just slip over into the passenger side and open that door. Of course, he may have been injured and wasn’t able to navigate his way out with those methods.

We don’t know his condition or what caused the accident, but it would probably be a safe guess that excessive speed might be one reason.

It’s nice to know that help is always available thanks to the brave first responders and firefighters on the scene.

  1. May have been as simple as a loss of power and ge needed to use the emergency door release lever.

  2. First responders aren’t always the sharpest knife in the drawer, tend to do the first thing that comes to mind, park where they want with no consideration for traffic and destroy property without stopping to think for a minute. We need them, but sometimes I have to wonder about their training, or lack of it.
