A couple weeks back we got the first performance numbers for the LS6 in the new 2027 Corvette Stingray and we are still amazed that the base car in the C8 Corvette line up features a 200+ MPH top speed. In addition to that, Chevrolet revealed the 2027 Stingray is capable of a 2.8-second 0-60 MPH time and it can run the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds at 124 MPH.
While Chevrolet released those numbers for the Stingray, we haven’t seen official numbers yet for the 2027 Grand Sport. But now that the car has started shipping, one turned up at Paragon Performance and now we have some real world test numbers to review thanks to Korey who took out the car for a night drive.
Korey posted three different videos to Instagram showing off these three performance stats: 0-60 MPH, 60-130 MPH, and a quarter mile run. All were done in a Grand Sport with 1/4 tank of fuel. The car was spec’d with the Z52 Sport Package which adds the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer performance tires. Korey also put the GS on the scales where it registered exactly 3,727 lbs.
As far as those performance tests go, we are so used to seeing the new ZR1 and ZR1X obliterate time clocks everywhere, so we sort of need to do a mental reset when it comes to looking at these Grand Sport numbers. The Grand Sport is based on the Stingray, but the widebody and wider tires will cause it to run a little slower than the new Stingray. Each was done with a Draggy recording the times and Korey notes that the Draggy doesn’t include the rollout in these tests while the official Chevy numbers include the rollout. And lastly, these runs were done on a street at night, so no prepped surface or burnouts to warm the tires.
Here is what Korey shared:
Grand Sport 0-60 MPH – 3.21 Seconds
Grand Sport 60-130 MPH – 10.18 Seconds
Grand Sport Quarter Mile – 11.32 Seconds
Thanks to Korey and Paragon Performance for sharing these numbers. You can see all three videos on their instagram page. Technically, (and I’m laughing to myself as I type this ridiculous statement) these are the current C8 Grand Sport world records until someone comes along and beats them with video and timeslips for proof.

I called it back in 2023. The C8GS is no quicker than the C8SR. It isn’t even quicker than the LT2 C8SR.
Proof positive that everyone is paying that $15,000 extra base MSRP for looks. The performance delta from C6 and C7 generations has inverted.
