Let the pricing games begin with the E-Ray.

America’s newest performance hybrid sports car started showing up at dealerships last week after the first 100+ cars were released from Bowling Green Assembly. One of those cars was a very loaded E-Ray Convertible wearing VIN 018 and it’s already been flipped to a pre-owned dealership in Michigan where it’s being offered for more than $240,000 over MSRP.

Originally delivered to Feldman Chevrolet of Novi in Novi, Michigan, this 2024 Corvette E-Ray Convertible has 354 miles on the odometer and it’s very nicely optioned with a Torch Red exterior and a 3LZ Adrenaline Red interior. I pulled the car’s window sticker from C8Tracker.com and can see the original buyer had loaded the car up with Carbon Flash-painted Carbon Fiber wheels, visible Carbon Fiber Ground Effects, Front Lift, Carbon Flash Nacelles and Roof, and Bright Red brake calipers. Other options include the ZER Performance Package, Black Exhaust Tips and a bunch of little stuff to make the MSRP on this HTC come in at $147,685.

We learned about this car thanks to a post on Instagram, and found that car is now being sold by DM Motors in Walled Lake, Michigan with an eye-popping selling price of $389,995. That’s $242,310 more than the MSRP of the car and anyone who buys this E-Ray will be without a factory warranty due to GM’s toothless anti-flip rule that only punishes the next owner.

The E-Ray is an exciting entry to the C8 Corvette line-up and had the car had performed better at Car and Driver’s Lightning Lap, we could have seen a frenzy happening as buyers looked to scoop up the car. But that didn’t happen. While the AWD E-Ray was able to pull out of certain corners faster than the track-oriented Z06, the E-Ray had a slower top speed at VIR than the Stingray which it shares the LT2 V8 engine with, and its battery that powers the AWD could not be sustained for the entire lap.

We think the 2024 E-Ray has a lot of potential and we are hoping to see new owners enjoying the benefits of being able to drive the all-wheel drive Corvette year-round. However, we think we’ll pass on this spectacular deal and hope the selling dealer has it on his lot for many months to come.

  1. I just love this. A brand new car hits the market and this is what they think it’s already worth? I love that these clowns act like they can just name their price. I can see the manager’s meeting now. “When did these hit the streets? Last week? Cool, what’s a good price? $389,995? Sounds good to me! I’m sure plenty of people cross-shop this with a Ferrari 296 GTB for around the same price…”

    SMH…

  2. Your could buy three Tesla Model S Plaids that will run circles around this car and have $90K left over.

  3. A first year car with new technology and no warranty? What could go wrong? And asking more than 2.5X the sticker price? Are they smoking it, or taking it intravenously? I would love to hear how much the original owner sold it for.

  4. A fool and his money is soon departed. Just saw a 2024 HTC at $105,000 window go out of state sold for $95,000 at a local Chevy dealer last week.

  5. I am no fool; I will offer him $655,000 so I can be the first to own one on my block. I will make a big profit 2 years later, selling it for $140,000. What a minute something does not add up. Can anyone help with this?

  6. DM Motors and similar speculative dealers are whats wrong with the car culture in the U.S.A. Can you begin to imagine what the reserve on this particular E-RAY might be at Barrett-Jackson or Mecum if it ever comes up for auction/sale. It’s out of control .

  7. Hah, not only are the DM Bandits asking nearly triple the MSRP; according to their own site listing they’ve managed to shave 350 miles off the odometer. Clowns.

  8. In the article it says it comes with the GM anti flipping rule that punishes the next owner, if someone is stupid enough to feed these gouging dealers, then so be it, I don’t feel sorry for them, if everyone refused to pay these, “way over sticker” prices, then there would be less people that are just buying the cars to flip. I want a C8, but am waiting 2 more years, I figure by then they should be selling under the MSRP, they are starting to to accumulate on the lots now, in some areas.

  9. First of all I will never ever buy a first year model car…again! That’s why I waited 2 years before I signed up for a C8, didn’t get it until Sept 23. What’s worse is first year car and “NO WARRANTY” Ha Ha, and we’ve yet to see what bugs crawl out to be fixed!!!! Y’all Stupiiiiiiid@!!!

  10. Reading this makes me want to punch the GM and owner of DM whoever they are right in their mouths and knock their teeth down their greedy obscene throats

  11. I talked to a dealer in Arizona, 2024 no markup MSRP if you order a car 30 k markup over MSRP on e ray or zo6

  12. Well GM killed the Camaro that was once their cash cow with over pricing. Now it seems the corvette is destined to have the same fate.
