Hall of Shame: These Dealers are Charging Some of the Highest Markups for the C8 Corvette Z06

1. Been on waiting list for going on 3 years with multiple dealers and 1 allocation @ MSRP .. I also have several recorded conversations , deposits checks to back it up and multiple attorney conversations and they are just plain F($$&@n the people who are buying them . Columbus Chevrolet Indiana and Bradley Chevrolet Franklin Indiana are guilty of ripping the consumer off . I actually could have went to a reputable dealership that has integrity and already had one of these cars at MSRP Months ago ….Rumors are circulating about Corvette splitting from Chevrolet I hope to GOD they reap what they sow .. Dbl down with dealerships that have integrity @ MSRP eliminating rip off dealerships …

2. These dealers are short sighted. However to say ‘I’ll never buy another Corvette’ or ‘I’ll never buy another Chevrolet’ or ‘I’ll never buy another GM product’ doesn’t make since. GM and Chevrolet didn’t do this, these gready dealers did. And not all dealers. As a matter of fact the volumn Corvette dealers are the MSRP dealers, not these greedy jerks.

5. I applaud this article being printed. The markups are incredible and the number of dealers doing this practice reflects unethical behavior and lacks integrity. Who would want to do any type of business with these dealerships? If they gouge you on price, then what are the other ways they take advantage of customers. You always create your own good or bad karma.

6. Whenever something is in demand some people try to take advantage. Order your Vette from the largest dealer, Macmulkin in New Hampshire. You might wait 10 months but they will deliver it to your town, for MSRP, and no BS. Great experience.

7. ESTERO BAY CHEVROLET has sold most Z06s at $100k over and recently at a bit less. I was told even though I waited 4 years and was promised car one or two at MSRP I was told when “MARKET PRICING” gets to MSRP I can have a car.

9. Disgusting! If they have the data to show us those dealers that are overpricing the cars with mark-ups, how about also listing the dealers that are selling them for MSRP? That way we can see who we want to do business with! Now that information I would like to see!

13. C1TOC8 says why should the customer make the money on the resale? Three things, reselling with no warranty is a gamble at best. Secondly, dealers are making plenty at MSRP on the most expensive car they sell. And finally, goodwill has value, so why blow it on fleeting greed?

14. If GM wanted to discourage price gouging why do several dealers have 3-4 cars? Wink-Wink-Nod-Nod……Remember to ZR1 of the 90’s, Pace Cars, etc…..father time and depreciation will catch up…..not the “bang for the buck” anymore…..

15. Dealers & Buyers are just unrealistic. The C8 Z06 is a track focused car. I ordered and rec’d my non-Z C8 from Bob Stall and paid MSRP. Its more enjoyable as a daily driver, anyway.

18. Now let’s see if Chevrolet will have the balls to punish these dealers. If Steve Carlisle doesn’t stand by his word he has NO BUSINESS working for GM or CHEVROLET for that matter. Mary Barra needs to step up to the plate. Simple take away there ability to buy vettes for several years. Let them buy all the low profit margin cars. Of course they could always do something like Ford did with the GT40’s and not let them flip[ them for several years. It does no good for the dealerships for long term and future sales but regretfully I see there side too as there is no used cars dealers (or new car dealers) selling used C8 or even C7 for less than the MSRP of when they were new here in SW Florida.

19. Nash Chevrolet in Lawrenceville, Georgia has not and will not mark up any of their cars. They are the best.
    I bought my 2022 C-8 Vette, fully tricked out and even got $500 knocked off the MSRP due to some universal Chevy promo. Thanks Chase and NASH!!

23. Stonebriar Chevrolet , Frisco, Tx. charges 50k over MSRP for the Z06. Don’t think they are on the list.

24. It’s the factory’s fault. Make more of them and the frenzy goes away. Look how the gouge you on a new truck. Both my 2019 C7 and Silverado had huge discounts. Those were the good old days.

25. Thanks for posting this list of Chevrolet dealers to never use. And I mean never. Not for new cars and not for service.

    I bought my C7 Z06 from Knippelmier Chevrolet in Oklahoma City and got a great deal ar the time. I was supposed to be 17th on their C8 Z06 list, but they have never contacted me again and they just lost a customer who previously would have (and did) recommend them

    Short sighted indeed.

26. Kevin Whitaker, probably the #1 dealer in SC. They won’t budge on anything, I didn’t even bother with that guy, I went straight to MacMulkin. I’d never deal with Whitaker again on anything.

    But I have yet to hear of anything actually happening to any dealership doing this.

27. Chevrolet has the keys to the store. If they don’t like the dealers charging excessive premiums, simply stop giving those dealers an allocation…it’s pretty basic logic.

28. Sorry, Mary-haters, GM can’t force all dealers to charge the same price. Some might even say that’s price fixing and/or it’s an illegal restraint of trade. Unfortunately, the best a corporation can hope for is that the dealers will behave with some integrity…and these characters have not done that.
    Mary knows what she’s doing; you just don’t like her because she’s a successful female engineer who happens to make a similar amount of money to what her male counterparts make.

29. I know some of the dealers in Oklahoma aren’t on this list, and they are marked up! I’m a GM retiree, and I get employee pricing, I feel if GM would drop the hold, some of these greedy dealers would really lose business, cause they can’t let an employee have a discount on one vehicle but not the other, has to be every car on the lot!

30. I live in Arizona and am not shocked that Arizona is at the top of the list. The dealers here are charging 100 grand for used 2021 1LT corvette. So I am having to go out of state to look for a C8 or just get a C7 instead, which will probably be my choice.

31. Pretty despicable. The nice thing is there ARE dealers that are selling at MSRP, problem is they cant get enough inventory. I’m waiting for one to call me and I’ll get in my order. As for the gougers, they will not get a dollar out of me and I’ll spread the word as to who they are.

32. Well GM, has solved the problem of Additional Dealer Mark-ups. In 2024, GM – as of now – GM has not published the MSRP for the 2024 Z06, on the builder. See problem solved. I, at one time, seriously had a thought of buying a C8 ZR1, but that’s out of the question now, given the mark-ups they will be close to $500k to get one.

33. I’ve been selling Chevrolets for 45 plus years at Powers Swain Chevrolet in Fayetteville North Carolina. While G.M. Continues to reward these dealers who have been charging outrageous prices for corvettes, at Powers Swain are not charging over MSRP .Even the one Z06 we sold. We’re only 6 to 7 corvettes a year. While the other Chevrolet dealer in town has gotten 29 corvettes in the passed year and charging $5000.00 over MSRP.One would think G.M would reward the dealer that tries to do the right thing.

34. Bullshit post. I’m the owner of Victory Chevy and we never marked up out Vette that much. It may have been an accident for a day and you took a screen shot to post for click bait! We are the lowest price in Charlotte and already sold it.
