[VIDEO] Dennis Collins Needs a Forklift to Rescue TWO Rare Midyear Coupes

Dennis Collins is back with another rescue video and this time he needs a forklift to get two midyear Corvettes on the back of his trailer. The two Corvettes are well optioned and if they have their matching number engines, Dennis says they will be candidates for restoration as opposed to turning them into restomods. But first, they got to get the Corvettes out of the field to see what they are dealing with.

The first midyear we see is parked behind a fence along a road, and it’s a 1966 Corvette Coupe that tragically looks to have been in a major accident with its driver front wheel turned at an unnatural angle. The car isn’t much too look at, as its body has also been hacked up with wheel flares added while the three vents on the driver’s side have been cut out. However, the car does have its engine still in the bay and most of the interior components are still there. Dennis heads right to the Trim Tag and finds it was a Milano Maroon exterior with a Black interior. Options on the car are a four-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, side exhaust, and knock-off wheels.

The second Midyear on the property is a 1965 396-V8 Coupe. This is also an interesting car with that was Rally Red with a 443 interior code. That’s essentially a two tone color with Red dash and carpet, while the seats and the headliner were White. And the fact that it’s the first big block Corvette also makes it worth restoring, however, that engine is not in the car when Dennis looks it over. The engine is said to be on an engine stand in the shop at another location.

Following a quick stop for a bite to eat, the crew then heads to that second location. Right way they find a treasure trove of Corvette parts including the rear fiberglass to a split-window. “I need that for my wall,” says Dennis. While also digging around the old barn, they come up with several steering wheels, C2 chrome bumpers and even a tri-power set up still sitting on its manifold.
