Nothing better than waking up on a Saturday Morning and enjoying a great cup of coffee. Today was made even better as I enjoyed that cup of joe while watching a new episode of Dennis Collins’ Coffee Walk featuring the rescue of a 1962 Corvette parked since 1970!

The car was found in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and according to the story, it’s an older gentleman named Jim that owns the car, although he isn’t there to talk with Dennis. It’s believed that Jim, a veteran, was the second owner of the car, and he and his wife drove it until they had kids. For some unknown reason, the car was parked with the hopes that he would one day fix it up.

The black/red 1962 Corvette was indeed located in a garage, and after the hood was removed, it was determined to be equipped with a 327/300hp motor that is numbers matching to the car. Most of the components in the engine bay were also original to the car, and it did have its 4-speed manual transmission as well.

The car has some damage as we noticed a chunk of fiberglass missing from the right front wheel arches while the passenger window was shattered with a hole in the middle. However, it appears that rust isn’t an issue and so Denniss confirms that he is taking the car.

After that is out of the way, next comes the process of locating all the parts from the car which were spread out through the garage. As the wheel covers were located upstairs in the garage up in the rafters, Dennis offers some advice that comes with years of experience, “It’s always easier to spend an hour or two where you bought the car looking for them in person than to chase them down and buy them, right?” The front bumpers are missing, so he offers a $100 reward to the kids for locating them.

After they finally remove the Corvette from the garage, it’s time for the crew to sample some of the local food.
