[VIDEO] Driving a C8 Corvette Z06 with Zero Pressure in the Left Rear Tire

Just watched a new video about a C8 Corvette Z06 and its visible carbon fiber wheels, and I thought it’s a pretty good follow-up regarding some of the same issues that Speed Phenom had in getting his Michelin tires mounted on his visible carbon fiber wheels.

In this video, YouTuber 650ib is out driving “on the filthy streets of Cleveland” when he strikes an object with his left rear tire, and the tire pressure drops to single digits before eventually dropping to zero. We can see from the tire pressure monitor on-screen that he has exactly zero pressure in the tire as he’s attempting to limp the car back home. From there, he gets a flatbed ride for his Z06 to the dealership.

Lucky for him that he picked up the Wheel and Tire Package when purchasing his car. Whatever struck the wheel not only cut down the tire, but it damaged the inner lip of the carbon fiber wheel which affects the structural integrity, and so it was replaced as well. The YouTuber says the total cost of the new wheel and tire would have been $6,800 but they were repaired under warranty. He also states that his downtime was under a week for the time it took to order the new wheel and tire and have them sent to the dealership.

We don’t get to see the tire mounting process, but apparently everything went smooth for the owner and he ends the video by driving around some more on the filthy streets of Cleveland!

  1. Damn if I would buy a high dollar brand new car and even consider putting replacement bumpers on it that have to be painted and going through the hassle of trying to match the car. I’m not that crazy.
