It’s always a momentous and emotional occasion when any young person heads off to protect their country as a member of the armed forces.
The big day was especially heartwarming for a Cumberland County, Pennsylvania young man who left for Air Force bootcamp this week.
Kaden Watts inherited his love of cars from his grandfather, a long-time member of the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club. In fact, Kaden even bought the same < AHREF="https://www.corvetteblogger.com/tag/1987/">1987 yellow Corvette as his grandpa and joined the same club last year.
On Monday, members of the club, driving Corvettes ranging from the fourth to the seven generations, turned out to surprise Kaden with a special goodbye as he headed off for basic training in San Antonio, Texas to defend his nation, lining up their cars, cheering loudly, and waving banners and American flags to show their support.
“Amazing, I didn’t know about this,” a smiling Kaden told CBS21 News. “I was completely surprised. As soon as I saw the cars, I was like, ‘oh, what’s happening?'”
