You CAN go home again.

Just ask this 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06, the very first Australian-spec right-hand drive model that recently visited the Carbon Revolution factory where its record-setting carbon fiber wheels were manufactured.

Carbon Revolution’s relationship with GM dates back seven years, and now the company is providing optional wheels for the powerful new Z06. The 21×13 inch wheels on the rear of the car have the distinction of being the world’s widest OEM carbon fiber wheels, and the smaller 20×10 inch wheels on the front are no slouch, either.

GM says the five-spoke carbon fiber wheels slice 41 pounds of unsprung weight off the new Z06, not to mention the increased performance they provide. Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder notes that the new wheels cut 1.5 seconds per lap over a two-mile track, and MotorTrend writer Scott Evans says during testing, the improved steering and braking feel was noticeable when choosing the carbon fiber wheels over the forged aluminum wheels.

“It’s exciting for our engineering and producing teams to see the fruits of our collaboration with GM, which dates back to 2016,” said Carbon Revolution CEO Jake Dingle. “Our team is extremely proud of the wheel – it genuinely enhances the Z06’s performance and it looks superb on the vehicle.”

GMSV Director Gregory Rowe says they’re “thrilled” that the advanced efficiency technology from Australia benefits the Z06 so much.

“The Carbon Revolution wheel is a testament to the talent of Australian engineers who have been able to design and manufacture one of the world’s most complex carbon fibre products,” Rowe said.

Carbon Revolution, located in Waurn Ponds, Victoria, is an Australian company that specializes in the development and production of carbon fiber wheels for automotive OEMs around the world, including the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and 488 Pista, Renault Megane RS Trophy-R, and Ford GT.

The standard Z07 Performance package includes the Carbon Revolution-made carbon fiber wheels, carbon-fiber aerodynamic elements, unique suspension tuning, and ultra performance tires.

GMSV, which handles retail sales of the Corvette in Australia, says “arrival times are yet to be confirmed and supply will be very restricted. We’ll be able to share more details at a later date.”

  1. looks like there are video of rims being damaged.
The dealer’s need a special tool to remove center cap,
It has to be special for that wheel. Not run of mill all dealers have.
For the track people that go thru a set of tires fast are seeing this damage around center cap area

  2. Most if not all US dealers won’t change tires on the CF wheels because engineers never thought there’d be an issue , just like most things with this new car no real planning for these new wheels was considered.

  3. Unfortunate that you cannot simply swap out your carbon fiber wheels for alloys for “regular use” and not put so many miles on those CF’s. I think we will start hearing some nightmare stories of damage from general street use and lack of proper servicing shops to be found.
