Corvettes for Sale: Partially Disassembled 1960 Corvette Has Sat Like This for 50 Years

Back in the early 1970s, the owner of this 1960 Corvette had big plans for his car.

But alas, after taking the roadster apart, it would sit in his garage for the next half-century.

Now this unfinished vintage C1 is looking for a new home on eBay, where it’s being auctioned off over the next nine days, with a “Buy It Now” price of $37,000 for the impatient.

According to the listing, all the body panels are original except for a new original GM hood.

To get the car rolling again, the original parts of the frame have already been put back together.

Among the original parts included with the car are glass, door parts, door panels, arm rests, kick panels, dash cluster, radio, clock and heater cables, package tray and support, seats, seat frames, gas tank, convertible top, and heater.

A period-correct but not numbers-matching low-horsepower 283 engine is in place, but among the parts missing that the seller “knows of” are the transmission, bumpers, one door post, side cove stainless and front and rear emblems.

The owner believes this car has the makings of a “great high end build.” Will you be the person who will fulfill the dream of restoration that started 50 years ago?

  1. I would not take this car for free. Note the brown panels came from a different car. The top lid does not fit the body. So many missing parts the engine is missing as far as I am concerned. The price of parts alone will go way over what a really nice 60 Vette goes for. You will have $150,000 in a $70,000 car, and it won’t be perfect. This is perfect for building a rough-drag race car.
