What about turning a little AI loose on the rumored ultimate “Zora” version of the C8 Corvette?

That’s the premise behind YouTuber Brian Mello’s latest chapter of “Would You Buy One?” as he uses artificial intelligence to create the Corvette Zora, a wild and crazy rendition of the mid-engine Corvette that rumor has it will honor the chief engineer, Zora Arkus-Duntov, who always wanted Chevy to go for such a layout, even as far back as the ’50s.

“I’m not sure how many of you saw the next-gen Grand National concept that I created using artificial intelligence,” Mello explains, “but I decided to see what I could come up with when it came to the Zora.”

So he fed the current 2023 Corvette Z06 into the system and asked AI to increase the performance of the car, giving it a much lower stance with a focus on aerodynamics.

“Because I like to make things a little more interesting,” Mello continues, “I blended in the E-Ray and I decided to have the system look at Koenigsegg for reference points.”

After a couple of hours tweaking the resulting rendering, Mello recently unveiled his conceptualized design of the 2025 Corvette Zora.

“When it comes to the Zora I think it needs to compete more directly with the Ford GT and so the design of the car needed to be brought up to an even higher level, which I think I managed to do while still maintaining some of that C8 Corvette DNA all into the mix.”

We love it! We’ve always felt that the Corvette sometimes doesn’t go far enough with its design – witness the design of the fabulous C4 ZR-1 that was basically the same as the base car – so with the Zora, we think it’s time to pull out all the stops and do something RADICAL. Only a few of these cars will likely ever be built, so what’s wrong with making the Zora – if it does ever come to life – as “crazy as a bessy bug,” as we say in the rural South.” (By the way, don’t ask me what a “bessy bug” is because I don’t know, but apparently it’s pretty crazy, based on decades of hearing that old saying in Georgia.)

As for the answer to the question “Would You Buy One?” – obviously the response for this diehard Corvette enthusiast is YES, though sadly the likely astronomical MSRP will mean only a few lucky souls will ever have the pleasure of racing one around the track. Indeed, I would go as far as to say that many of them will become instant garage queens with 3 miles on the odometer, sadly saving them for some collector down the road. Maybe GM should put a requirement in the contract that the cars have to be driven at least 3,000 miles a year.

What about you? Would you buy one?

  1. Video was boring old stuff for about the first four minutes until he gets to his concept Zora. I like it! I would want one but it would be way out of my price range so I would just have to forget about it and do without.

  2. It needs to sit lower and have bigger wheels (It’s a joke) Honestly it’s just too radical, plus the price will be in the FORD GT range. Thanks, but I’ll keep my old C3 and C6.

  3. Of course this is an impossible render because if Chevy built this for $200k, all the exotics would be out of business since it looks better than all of them.

  4. Hell yeah I’d buy one. That looks great, wish additional views had been available. But the front is awesome. Some will argue it looks too much like a Lambo or other exotic, but all mid engine cars have some similarities in their looks for cooling purposes. Like most, I could not afford one, but like the he said, you have to put price aside for a moment and think pure design. Love it, best rendering I’ve ever seen.

  5. Too much money. I’ve had a C5, C6, C7, 2021 C8 and 2023 C8. I guess my 2023 will he the end of the Corvette era!!!

  6. Corvette is no longer a working man’s car. It got out of hand with the C7 ZR1 and C8 Z06 with pricing. It’s unfortunate for the working man who just wanted to drop the top and take a ride on the weekends with your two best girls. I’ve had my share of Corvettes but now GM has priced me out, so long GM.

  7. Is a stupid question, of course everyone would buy it. The question he should be asking is can most of us afford it, how much you wanna bet this is not an average joe like you or me can afford, rather it will cost us an arm or a leg, or someone with a rich daddy.

  8. You will never get one ! Hell zo6 c8s are a joke to get . Stupid rules from GM about ownership rules and regulations! If I buy the car I can do what I wish !!

  9. I kinda agree with “bill”, as far as being out of range for the average Corvette enthusiast (working stiff). I have owned every generation, from C1 to C6. I just “love” the Cars. It would take a lottery hit to afford, but I would buy the Zora, if if came out like that!

  10. Love it! At the distinct age of 70 I have wanted a corvette since I was 12/ 13 years old it like then like now it was not an automobile I could afford, however it is and has always been the most beautiful, most sexiest most exciting sport car ever created in my unsolicited opinion.
