Corvette Racing ace driver Jordan Taylor has been discussing the Code to Race Car Driver Coolness since at least 2016 so his latest TED Talk on the subject doesn’t come as a surprise to us. If you need to brush up on the subject, follow that link.
Jordan’s hypothesis on race car driver coolness has to do with the level of visor crack a driver shows while sitting in the car in pit lane or making the walk from the garage to the paddock. The lower the visor, the cooler the driver is.
Over the years, he has studied the best race car drivers in the world to determine their level of coolness with the visor, and this week he delivered a more formal presentation of his Cool Guy Half Crack Matrix.

This is a chart that has been developed over 20 years in the sport. It measures level of coolness vs visor openness.
