[STOLEN] Pursuit of Carjacked C7 Corvette Ends in a Fiery Crash

A carjacking of a C7 Corvette Tuesday morning in Chicago ended with a fiery crash and the arrest of the alleged thief as he attempted to make his get-away from police.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened on the ramp from I-57 to the Bishop Ford Freeway as Country Club Hills police were chasing a 2015 Corvette that had been carjacked earlier Tuesday morning.

The Corvette headed onto the northbound lanes of I-57, then crashed and burst into flames in the grass next to the ramp from I-57 to the eastbound lanes of the Bishop Ford Freeway around 9:15 a.m.

Video from the scene posted on cbsnews.com shows the Chicago Fire Department dousing water on the Corvette, which can barely be recognized through the simmering smoke and extensive damage to the body.

Illinois State Police say the suspect driving the Corvette suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken into custody. They don’t think anyone else was involved in the crime.

  1. He will do a few months in jail, brag to his buddies how he was flying at high rate of speed giving the cops a run for their money, then lost control and survived this harrowing crash. He will pay zero towards the destruction of the Corvette as these characters never own anything. How long would you guess before he steals another car to create a new victim?

  2. I doubt he goes to jail at all. Chicago has a “no bail” policy and a D.A. who thinks car theft is a victimless crime. I mean the car is covered by insurance, right…no harm, no foul, Social Justice. It’s what Dems are all about. Think about that come election day.
