2023 Corvette Owner's Manual With Stingray/Z06 Procedures Available for Download

Thanks to a member over at the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com for finding out that you can now download the 2023 Corvette Owner’s Manual from Chevrolet.com! We downloaded a copy and promptly performed a keyword search and found 44 instances of Z06! A quick review and further searches provide specific info for the Z06/Z07 as well as the Stingray models.

The link to the manual is found at Chevrolet.com under the Vehicle Support tab and then further clicking through to the Manuals and Guides. You can view or download it here.

So, what do we find interesting so far? While the Z06 keyword search brought up 44 matches, Z07 only brought up 4 matches. One of those matches was for this section on the Z06’s Recommended Aerodynamic Configurations. We believe the TOG/TOF RPOs refer to the High Wing but we’re checking on that:

We know that many are interested in the visible carbon wheels. Here is the section about the importance of keeping them cool when participating in track events:

When participating in Track Events or Competitive Driving with these wheels, a proper cool down without hot soaking the wheels is critical.

– On a typical road course 3.2–6.5 km (2-4 miles) long per lap, one cool-down lap without using the brakes will suffice. If the track being driven is shorter than 3.2 km (2 mi), perform two cool-down laps without using the brakes.

– If adequate cool down without using the brakes cannot be achieved (i.e., red flag on track, have to stop unexpectedly, etc.), the key is to not have one area of the wheels exposed to the “chimney effect” of the heat that rises off of a stationary hot brake rotor. This can be prevented by very low speed driving of the car such that the entire circumference of the wheel is exposed to the heat. Rolling the car back and forth in a small space is better than sitting still with hot brakes.

Or perhaps you are interested in the section about Underbody Strake Inspection. FYI, we are still waiting for a picture of these from a lift so if you find yourself in a position to be under a Z07-equipped Z06, we’ll want those photos! As for the Strakes, it shows they are on vehicles with Spoiler which we assume to be the Z06’s High Wing and it shows two RPOs: TOF or TOG.

We’re not sure if we classify the 2023 Corvette Owner’s Manual release as a leak but it is just another piece of the puzzle that dropped early and we’re glad to see anything that tells more about the newest American supercar that is coming this summer. Now if you will excuse me, I have to read up on the burnishing the J57 carbon ceramic brakes on the Z06…
