Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for Jan 16th

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

This was a fun blog post to put together today. Not only do we have some really happy customers picking up their new Corvettes, but Mike’s vintage photos are all dedicated to Malcolm Konner and the cross-country trip he did with 25 new owners in 1959. Can you imagine the looks that these owners got as 25 new Corvettes made their way from St. Louis to New Jersey?

~It’s extremely cold in the Northeast this week…I’m so not a fan of the Winter but the deliveries must go on. NFL Playoff Football has started and hopefully, Winter will be behind us as quickly as possible. The Corvette plant is back humming along, this past Monday they built the most Corvettes in one
day that I can recall. My educated guess is we will see it continue throughout the year.

~I will be at Spring Mountain in Pahrump, Nevada April 2nd-8th hosting 3 full classes (54) of Corvette customers and then in the end of April, the 26th-29th. I will be attending the Corvette Bash at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Hope to see you all there. August 24th-27th I will have my Corvette displayed at the Ron Fellows Spring Mountain tent on the midway infield of the Carlisle, PA Fairgrounds.

~Wally and Jerrie S. of Tomahawk, Wisconsin placed their Corvette order with me and I had it drop shipped at a Chevrolet dealer in Cape Coral, Florida near their Winter home. Wally spec’d out a Red Mist 2022 Corvette Convt. With Natural interior Equipment list: 2LT pkg, GT2 seats, Stinger stripe, magnetic ride, edge red calipers and much more. Here is an email I just received: “Hi Mike,
Thanks so much for all the help. The courtesy delivery went smoothly at my Cape Coral Florida dealer. The C8 is absolutely amazing I love it

~Hau N. of Orange, California ordered his Ceramic Matrix Gray 2022 Corvette Z51 coupe from me and I had it drop shipped for courtesy delivery at a Chevrolet dealer near him in Huntington Beach, California. Hau ordered a 3LT pkg,
Adrenaline red/black interior, transparent too, magnetic ride, edge red calipers, torch red seat belts and much more. Here is the email he sent me.

“Happy New Year! Thank you for all your help in getting me my dream car. The process was smooth and super efficient. “

~Jamie D. of North Dinwiddie, Virginia found me on the internet and placed his order for his Arctic White 2022 Corvette Convt. Yesterday Jamie had his friend Lawrence drive him 165 miles to Criswell Chevrolet so that he could take delivery at 9:30am…15 minutes in the business office and it was on to the tutorial that I gave them both. Equipment list: 2LT pkg, GT2 seats, body color accents, chrome badges, front lift, magnetic ride, performance exhaust and Low rear spoiler. Check out the photo of the sky as I got to the dealership yesterday at 6:45am to set up all my deliveries.

~Gary G. of San Diego, California recently took delivery of a new 2022 Corvette from me and he shared his new license plate. Clearly he is waiting no more! Great plate.

~This local company has probably bought 70-80 vehicles from me since 2002. The owner is an old neighbor and golf partner of mine. Thursday afternoon he walked in and picked out two Silverado’s and I said I would come in Friday morning on my day off for 9am delivery. I had both Silverado’s cleaned and filled with gas when he walked in at 9:06am Friday morning and out the door inside of 25 minutes for both deliveries.

~I want to take a moment and tell you what happened this week and I was very proud how the employee’s of Criswell Auto stepped up. Tuesday morning on the 6am news was a house fire in Gaithersburg, MD…I arrive at work at 8am and was greeted by Leoncio the Janitor for the last 3+ years at Criswell. He speaks Spanish and very few words of English, my Mother was tri lingual so I can get by in conversation with him. He tells me his house burned down in the early morning hours…I was astonished as I had just seen the fire on the news and that he was even at work no less on time! Everyone at Criswell instantly started talking about clothes, food, money etc and the rest is history. He gave us approx sizes for him and his extended family that lost everything. The picture below shows the three full bags I brought for him the next day of new clothes and the entire Criswell organization really stepped up for this man and his family. Very proud and thankful to everyone at Criswell Auto.

~The Frank Class Barn find and throwback section today will be the Malcolm Konner throwback section. ~I was beyond fortunate to start in the car business working for the Malcolm Konner Auto group. Malcolm Konner owned the largest Corvette dealership in the Nation from the 60’s through the 1994 era when they sold the dealership. Malcolm Konner not only won the Time Magazine Dealer of the year award but several years after he passed…GM produced a 1986 limited edition Corvette in honor of Malcolm Konner! Only 50 produced and I can guarantee no other car dealer will ever have a special edition vehicle named in their honor. >>>Many people ask where my love of Corvettes came from? The Konner family!<<<

~October 1959, Malcolm Konner sold 25 1960 Corvettes and flew out with all the customers to St Louis to take a plant tour and delivery direct from the Corvette plant in St Louis. All 25 1960 Corvettes drove back to NJ road Rallye style with Pat Boone waving the checkered flag upon complete ting the Rallye. Pat Boone was also a friend and Corvette customer of Malcolm Konner. *Just think…The Corvette was first introduced in 1953 and Mr Konner put this Tour/trip factory purchase experience together only 6 years later!!! Way ahead of his time in my eyes.

~The Corvette News and many Newspapers covered the historic event.

Even Pat Boone bought his Corvettes through Malcolm Konner, they were friends of course.

Pat Boone is still playing tennis and golf (at least for a minute), so Corvettes and fruit/vegetable pills must be good for longevity! 🙂
