It seems just like yesterday. Chevrolet invited me to the C8 Corvette reveal in Tustin, California in the summer of 2019 and as you can imagine, I was over-the-moon.

The big day arrived and I was huddled in a dark airplane hangar with other automotive journalists, anxiously awaiting for the cover to be lifted off the new mid-engine Corvette. When the lights blazed and the car was revealed to the world, it seemed so fresh, exotic, and otherworldly.

GM Delivers 6,355 Corvettes in Third Quarter 2020

Now that Third Quarter has officially come to an end, General Motors has released its latest sales report and it shows Corvette sales surging with 6,355 Corvettes delivered during the time period. This is a 33.3% increase over the 4,766 Corvettes delivered during July-September 2019. For the 2020 year to date sales, a total of 12,634 Corvettes have been delivered. Due to the COVID shutdowns earlier in the year, we are seeing a 12.9% decrease from the 14,497 sold during the same time last year.

RUMOR: E-Ray Hybrid Model May Replace the Grand Sport in the C8 Corvette Lineup

The C8 Corvette is still in its inaugural year rollout and yet many Corvette enthusiasts are already looking to the future to see what might be in store for the Corvette lineup. We believe without a doubt that the next model to be rolled out will be the performance-oriented Z06 as prototypes of the cars have been spied testing at various locations throughout 2020. These cars are slated to receive a version of the naturally-aspirated 5.5L flat-plane crank V8 that’s currently powering the C8.R race cars.

The Corvette Team sure seems to have fun in offering up nicknames for certain parts on the 2020 Corvette Stingray.

For example, those large air intakes on the sides of the C8 are referred to as “boomerangs” and we can certainly see how that nickname came to be, as the trim around it definitely resembles the curved throwing weapon from the land down under.
