One of the greatest athletes in history once owned one of the greatest Corvettes ever built — and now that car has a new place to shine.

The 1993 Corvette ZR-1 formerly owned by Michael Jordan is now on display at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, as part of its Pop Culture and Corvette: An American Love Affair exhibition.

Jordan’s Ruby Red 40th Anniversary ZR 1 is already familiar to fans. It appeared in ESPN’s The Last Dance, including the memorable scene in Episode 8 when Jordan steps out of this very car after announcing “I’m back” to the basketball world.

Now, visitors can see it up close inside the museum’s Skydome — one of nearly half a dozen ZR-1s spanning multiple generations. The 1993 ZR-1 represented peak C4 performance. Its updated LT5 V8 produced 405 horsepower, finally surpassing GM’s original 400 hp goal. The 40th Anniversary Package (RPO Z25) added Ruby Red paint, matching sport seats, and special badging — a perfect match for a superstar who defined the 1990s.

Jordan’s car isn’t just a high spec ZR-1. It’s a piece of sports and automotive history, blending the legacy of the Bulls dynasty with the legend of America’s sports car.

The museum’s Pop Culture and Corvette exhibit explores how the Corvette has shaped — and been shaped by — film, television, music, gaming, and celebrity ownership. Jordan’s ZR-1 joins more than a dozen iconic Corvettes that highlight the car’s cultural footprint far beyond horsepower numbers.

The ZR 1 will remain on display through spring 2027, giving fans plenty of time to make the trip.

Guests can view Jordan’s ZR 1 along with more than 50 Corvettes on display. Throughout May, K–12 students — including homeschoolers — receive discounted $10 admission, plus a free Corvette poster while supplies last.

For Corvette fans, basketball fans, or anyone who loves a good intersection of sports and car culture, this is one exhibit worth the drive.
