Black, Red leather, side pipes and 540 hp. What more could you ask for in a mid-year Corvette? Barrett-Jackson may have just the car for you as this Jeff Hayes built 1967 Corvette Convertible is one of the featured Corvettes up for grabs at their 2026 Digital Select Auction happening November 5th-12th.
The Digital Select Auction allows you to experience the Barrett-Jackson online sales event from the comfort of your home, with a curated selection of collector vehicles and automobilia. For Corvette enthusiasts who may be shopping for a restomod, this one brings together the familiar C2 styling with a long list of modern upgrades.
According to Barrett-Jackson, this 1967 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible build began with an no-hit California original and was completed by Jeff Hayes Customs in mid-September 2020. The finished convertible wears black paint with red accents, a red leather interior, and a Haartz soft convertible top. With those side pipes tucked beneath the doors, it certainly has the look you want from a custom ’67.
Of course, the real fun starts under the hood. Power comes from a GM LS3 Hot Cam V8 rated at 540 horsepower, backed by a 4L70E four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. That’s plenty of motivation for a weekend cruise, and the overdrive gives the next owner another reason to take the long way home.
The engine compartment received plenty of attention as well, with a Velocity intake manifold and fuel rails, polished valve covers, a polished alternator, and additional polished components. This is one Sting Ray that deserves to have its hood opened up whenever it makes an appearance at a local car show.
The build resides on an Art Morrison Sport chassis and the rear suspension features coilovers and a four-link setup. Power steering is also part of the package. Helping to slow it down are Wilwood brakes with polished six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers working against two-piece drilled and slotted rotors.
The wheel and tire combination adds even more curb appeal. Schott C7 two-piece forged wheels measure 18 inches up front and 20 inches at the rear, with polished lips and silver and polished faces. Three-Bar Cover-Loc knock-off spinner center caps brings in that element from Corvette’s classic wheel designs, while Toyo Proxes 4 Plus red-line tires help to keep the car planted to the pavement.
Inside, the red leather is joined by a polished Lokar shifter, chrome Ididit steering column, and a Billet Specialties steering wheel. Power windows and Vintage Air climate control make the cabin more accommodating, and there’s even a power hood to show off that LS3.
Once again, Jeff Hayes has hit the ball out of the park with this 1967 Corvette restomod. It combines the timeless looks of the ’67 Sting Rays but the LS3 and other modern components gives the classic a modern ride. Of course, the combination of the Black exterior and Red Stinger hood with a matching Red interior certainly doesn’t hurt either.
