General Motors Delivers 6,235 New Corvettes During 1st Quarter 2026

GM is out with their first quarterly sales report for 2026 and we do consider it to be pretty good as far as first quarters go. GM announced sales of 6,235 new Corvettes during the time period spanning from January 1st through March 31st. That number was down about 500 units from the same time in 2025 in which 6,794 Corvettes were delivered. That was an 8.2% decline year over year.

We have also been watching the top dealer sales and we note that January was a particularly brutal month with adverse weather sweeping across much of the country. However, sales appears to rebound in February and we are expecting to see a similar report for March if we can get our hands on it.

On the rebate front, GM has kept the $4,000 loyalty rebate on 2025 Corvettes for current Corvette and Camaro owners and it’s now been extended through April 30th. Just checking the Chevrolet Live Inventory tracker and it shows 326 remaining 2025 Corvettes at dealers. They can be broken down with 46 Stingrays, 114 E-Rays, and 166 Z06s. There are some crazy deals to be had with dealers so keep that in mind if want a new Corvette at a killer deal.

As we look forward to 2nd quarter, we are hoping to see the Grand Sports and the new LS6-powered Stingrays starting production sometime in June. Chevy originally told its dealers that the 2027 model year will start on Monday, June 1st it would be great to see the new Grand Sports coming off the line as soon as possible.

These delivery numbers are for U.S. sales only.

Our Corvette Sales Archives will be updated in July 2026 with the release of GM’s official 2nd Quarter 2026 sales numbers.

1st Quarter 2026 GM Sales

DETROIT — General Motors led the U.S. auto industry in sales for the first quarter, as momentum in March helped results partially recover from a slower January and February, when winter storms impacted the market.

GM sales in Q1 totaled 626,429 vehicles, a decline of 9.7% compared with the same period a year earlier. GM expects a similar decline for the industry as a whole. Year-over-year comparisons are significantly skewed by an exceptionally high selling rate in March of 2025, when industry-wide sales soared to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of more than 18 million units.

“We saw showroom traffic and sales steadily improve after January’s storms and March was a much stronger month. We are well positioned for the future because of our operating discipline and the compelling value we offer, from affordable SUVs to premium vehicles and trucks.” – Duncan Aldred, GM Senior Vice President and President of North America.

In Q1, GM grew its market share in full-size pickup trucks and continued to be the industry’s #2 EV seller. GM delivers value across more price points than any automaker, including a portfolio of six Chevrolet and Buick vehicles with a starting at about $30,000 or less.

Other U.S. sales highlights include:

  • Best Q1 of retail share ever for GMC driven by sales of Canyon and Terrain.
  • Cadillac continues to lead the luxury EV market, with EV sales up 20%.
  • Best Q1 for fleet sales since 2020.
