General Motors released the third-quarter sales results today and it’s not good news at all. Chevrolet sold just 5,123 new Corvettes during the quarter which is a 34.3% decline from the 7,797 Corvettes delivered during the same quarter a year ago. For the Calendar Year to date numbers, Chevrolet has delivered 17,718 new Corvettes from January 1st through September 30th, which is a decline of 31.1% CYTD over 2024.

This is the second quarterly decline in sales for the 2025 after 2nd Quarter’s sales numbers were down by 37.9% which was attributed to the plant being closed for four weeks for upgrades to the production line. We already expected to see less cars for the 3rd Quarter as total production has slowed to around 150 units per day, but then those sales numbers were further impacted by the STOP SALE Order issued on August 21st.

With the STOP SALE Order shutting down deliveries of the Z06 and new ZR1s, dealers were simply unable to deliver these two models to its waiting customers due to the risk of fire from spilled fuel. New 2026 Corvettes are now getting the new spilled fuel diverter installed at the Assembly Plant, and remedied Corvette Z06s and ZR1s can now be shipped and delivered to customers. However, dealers are still waiting for their own shipments of parts so they can remedy any of the remaining in-stock 2025s they have with the new diverter part.

During this time, Chevrolet is also struggling with sales of the 2025 E-Ray as roughly 20% of all 2025 E-Rays produced are still available at dealers. The only good news here is that many dealers are offering huge discounts off MSRP that can save you thousands. With the Z06 sidelined for the last six weeks, we think Chevy missed an opportunity to offer another incentive for the performance hybrid sports car. Earlier this year, both the Stingray and the E-Ray were offered at up to $3K off MSRP with a Costco Membership and those stackable incentives really helped to lower the price of entry.

These delivery numbers are for U.S. sales only.

Our Corvette Sales Archives will be updated in January 2026 with the release of GM’s official 4th Quarter 2025 sales numbers.

3rd Quarter 2025 GM Sales

DETROIT — General Motors said third quarter U.S. vehicle sales were up 8% from the like year-earlier quarter, on continued strength in both electric and gas-powered vehicles.

GM set another EV sales record in Q3, with 66,501 deliveries. Industry-wide EV sales continued to surge as customers sought to take advantage of the $7,500 federal tax credit. GM’s year to date total EV sales in the U.S. year to date now stand at 144,668, up 105% from a year earlier.

Chevrolet Equinox EV is the best-selling non-Tesla EV in the U.S. Cadillac, meanwhile, has three of the 10 best-selling EVs in the luxury segment through the end of September: LYRIQ (#2), OPTIQ (#5), and VISTIQ (#6).

GM leads the industry again in overall sales and continues to grow in gas-powered vehicles. GM’s crossovers and SUVs reached a new record in Q3. GMC Terrain, Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse, and Buick Envista all had their best-ever third quarter sales. GM is on track to lead the full-size pickup market for the 6th straight year – and to top the full-size SUV market for the 51st consecutive year.

Sales for the year’s first three quarters were up 10% to 2.2 million vehicles, the best pace in a decade.

“No one is in a stronger position for a changing U.S. market than GM,” said Duncan Aldred, GM senior VP and president of North America. “We have the best lineup of ICE and EV vehicles we’ve ever had. Our brands have grown market share with consistently strong pricing, and low incentives and inventory.”
