Mecum auctions wrapped up their January mega-sale in Kissimmee, Florida last week. The final numbers are rolling in and they are staggering. This year’s Kissimmee event was the most successful collector car auction ever. Over the course of almost 2 weeks, Mecum realized $441 million in sales. Saturday, January 17th went down as the highest single-day sales total ever, ringing the bell at $259 million alone. Over 140,000 people attended this year to watch roughly 4,500 cars cross Mecum’s famous red carpet.
The overall high seller of the auction was the stunning 1962 Bianco Speciale Ferrari GTO that sold for $38.5 million including the buyer’s fee. In all, 54 cars sold for over $1 million dollars while another 30 bid to 7-figures and failed to meet reserve. Any way you slice it, the numbers from Kissimmee are simply next level.
Those lofty values carried over to the Corvette portion of the docket as well. Of the 397 Corvettes offered, 303 of them (76%) now reside in new garages.
On to the Top 11 Corvette sales from Mecum Kissimmee 2026. Remember all of our sales figures include the 10% buyer’s fee. The highest selling Corvette was the 1967 Ed Cole L89 coupe which changed hands at $1,155,000. Next up was an incredible 1963 Big Tank Z06 coupe that brought $1,045,000. The black 1964 “Jack Murray” fuelie tanker came in 3rd at $770,000.
Elsewhere in the Top 11, a blue, non-tanker 1963 Z06 brought $709,500 while a silver non-tanker Z06 brought $423,500. The first 1957 Airbox Corvette commanded $660,000 and a rare 1969 L88 coupe with an automatic transmission sold for $544,500.
Yet another big tank C2, this time a white 1965 version found a new home at $357,500. The highest selling restomod Corvette was a LT4 powered 1963 split window coupe that sold for $385,000. The only other restomod to crack the Top 11 was a blue and silver 1958 convertible at $352,000. Finally, a Duntov award winning red/red 1963 split window coupe fuelie rounded out the Top 11 with another $352,000 sale.
Adding that all up, the total value of our Top 11 Corvettes is $6,740,000. That equates out to just $614,000 per car. A higher-level look at this year’s Top 11 looks a lot like recent years. Midyears are still the top of the food chain with 8 of them in the Top 11. Within that C2 group, big tank cars still bring big bucks and Z06’s continue to climb. 1967 L89’s remain hot with another $1M+ sale following last year’s $1.7M L89 sale. L88’s are still top of the heap for C3’s with 2 in the Top 11 again. Lastly, the factory correct cars still bring all the money at Mecum with 9 of them inside the Top 11 list. Only 2 restomods cracked the list this year even with high-$300k sales.

Significant No Sales from Kissimmee
Mike Yager’s MY Garage collection went across the block early on Saturday morning, the 17th, to some surprisingly low numbers (to us anyway). The 1989 prototype ZR1 brought $60,500 which is line with the white proto ZR1 that sold last year at Kissimmee. The low-mile, black ZR1 and CERV IVB both hammered sold for less than $20,000. The 1996 last C4 Corvette was a no sale $110k.
The most notable no sale was once again the red/red 1967 L88 coupe which bid to $2.7 million this time. Why have no idea why the seller won’t turn this car loose. The market has clearly spoken on its current value. After famously selling for $3.85M in 2014, it changed hands in 2024 at Mecum Kissimmee for $3.2M. Since then it’s been touring the auction circuit looking for a new home. The car has now failed to meet reserve here as well as at Mecum Kissimmee 2025 ($2.5M), Mecum Indy 2025 ($2.7M), Mecum Monterrey 2025 ($2.6M), and Mecum Dallas 2025.
Other Significant No Sales from Kissimmee:
• Kindig CF1 #1: $550,000
• 1967 Bob Wingate FSO Coupe: $350,000
• 1963 Z06: $345,000
• 1969 L88: $270,000
• 1969 L89 vert: $240,000
• 1984 – The First C4: $195,000
The 2026 Kissimmee El Cheapo award is a tie this time. Naturally, we have a C4 convertible from 1995 that sold for $6,600. That reasonable sum was matched by a red project 1976 coupe.

I looked up and watched the video of that El Cheapo 95 Convertible. It’s very eye catching and only has 60000 miles. It was well bought for only $6600! I would’ve happily paid more than that for it all day long!
