The Detroit Auto Show will be lighting up the Motor City from January 14-25 at Huntington Place, and we’ve learned that there will be some special Corvettes on display that most enthusiasts have yet to see in person.
Chevrolet is expected to show off its full contingent of 2026 model year Corvettes which has now grown to five distinct models that includes the Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X. But also making its debut are the Corvettes and Trucks that make up Chevrolet’s patriotic Stars & Steel Collection, as well as the Chevy Corvette CX Concept.

The Stars & Steel Collection celebrates America’s 250 Anniversary with a special package limited to just 250 Corvettes across the model line-up. The vehicles will be offered in Arctic White with Santorini Blue interior, or Black with Adrenaline Red interiors, and a special graphics package that includes stylized elements of the American flag are featured on the cars. The Corvette packages are restricted to 3LT/3LZ trims, and so far pricing has not yet been announced.
In addition to the Corvettes in the Collection, Chevy enthusiasts can also get the Stars & Steel packages on a number of different Chevy trucks that includes the Silverado EV, Silverado LD, Silverado HD, and Colorado. For each “Stars & Steel” edition sold, GM will donate $250 to nonprofits that support veterans groups.

Also appearing at the Detroit Auto Show is the Corvette CX Concept Car. This “design study” came out of Chevrolet’s Performance Studio in Detroit this summer where it was revealed alongside with its related CX.R Vision Grand Turismo concept which presents it in a Corvette Racing livery. Earlier this week we learned the Corvette CX Concept was up for two finalist awards from EyesOn Design where it’s competing against the Bentley EXP 15 and the Cadillac Elevated Velocity for Best Concept Vehicle, as well as the Best Designed Interior award. A jury of automotive designers will pick their winners on January 14th.
Chevrolet’s designers imagined the CX Concept as an all-wheel-drive EV with electric motors mounted on each wheel to provide more than 2000 horsepower, and it also features four-wheel torque vectoring for maximum grip and cornering. Inside the CX is a futuristic cockpit with a digital windscreen that transforms into an immersive display with real-time performance data while all the driver’s controls have been integrated into the steering wheel.

Love my 2024 c8
Since the purpose of the Detroit Auto Show is to generate NEW car sales, they should pay YOU to see it, not charge admission. I guess the $25 fee keeps the bums out.
