My good friend (and Corvette Hall of Famer) Charley Robertson alerted me recently about a situation brewing with the Corvette Corrals held at various IMSA tracks during the racing season. On the Corvette Racing Fans page on Facebook, they are saying that Doug Fehan, former Corvette Racing Manager and also a Corvette Hall of Fame member, may not be back at the corrals for the 2026 racing campaign.

If you have never been to a Corvette Corral during a big racing weekend, you really owe to yourself to get to at least one as they are a ton of fun! You get tickets to the race plus a private parking area for your Corvette. There is usually a big tent that features snacks and drinks and place to sit and watch the race. But more importantly, attendees get to hear from the Corvette Racing drivers, as well as related racing partners like Michelin and Mobil 1, and members of the Corvette engineering team. One of those voices since they first started hosting fans is Doug Fehan, who was instrumental in turning a small-time racing program into the worldwide juggernaut in sports car racing that it is known for today.

Doug Fehan

Doug Fehan is still arguably one of the best-known Corvette celebrities in our hobby and he did it by fielding winning teams for General Motors for 25 years before he was replaced at the end of 2020. However, GM saw the light and brought him back as a Brand Ambassador for General Motors/Chevrolet and of course, Corvettes.

Having been to a number of corrals over my time here at CorvetteBlogger, I can tell you that other than having Tadge Juechter or Harlan Charles on site, attendees would look forward to hearing from Doug because he understands us as sports car enthusiasts and uses that connection to hammer home the facts about Corvette Racing and what it does to improve our street Corvettes. It was Doug that coined the phrase “Cascade Engineering” in describing how each generation of street car improves the race car, and each race car then improves the next generation of street cars.

His insight into the business of sports car racing is unequalled by anyone, and his stories relating to the team, drivers, as well as the big races like Daytona, Sebring, and Le Mans are legendary. Losing this positive voice at a time when Corvette Racing has become more fractured due to the GT3 racing model where other racing teams are the real customers would be a real shame.

Doug Fehan

The Corvette Racing Fans page put up a poll to help garner support, so we are doing the same as well. Please, if you are fan of Corvette Racing and you think fans would benefit from having Doug Fehan at the races, please hit the Yes button and let’s send a message to GM!

Do you want Doug Fehan at the Corvette Corrals during the 2026 IMSA racing season?

Also, if you are on Facebook, head over to the Corvette Racing Fans page and make sure you vote there as well. Hopefully we can send a message to General Motors to let them know how much we appreciate having Doug Fehan as a Corvette Racing Ambassador and how much his presence at the Corrals means to those of us who driving Corvettes and actively support the racing teams.

FRACTURED?? I can’t tell if this is a joke. There are more Corvettes than we’ve ever seen racing all over. No one is discounting what Doug and Pratt Miller have done with Corvette Racing but this sounds like y’all are discarding or don’t care about the other teams… the ones that won at Daytona, the ELMS championship, races in WEC, Asia, etc. Does that not matter to anyone?

  2. Why hasn’t my post been approved three days since I submitted it. Is this board afraid of viewpoints it doesn’t agree with?
