Ever since learning about the Corvette price increases last week, we’ve been wondering if we would see something similar for the upcoming 2026 Corvette ZR1X. The short answer is YES.
As of December 15th, all Corvettes got a $500 increase to $2,495 for the mandatory destination fees, and the ZR1 also got slapped with an additional $1,600 price increase on all its trim packages as well.
Now we can see that pricing for the 2026 Corvettes has been updated on the official Build and Buy Configurator at Chevrolet.com and it does show a price increase for the ZR1X which will come in at $2,200 more than its previously announced price.
Here are the new prices for the 2026 Corvette ZR1X which includes the $2,495 Destination Fee. The original MSRP follows in parentheses:
• 1LZ Coupe – $209,595 ($207,395)
• 3LZ Coupe – $220,595 ($218,395)
• 1LZ Convertible – $219,595 ($217,395)
• 3LZ Convertible – $230,595 ($228,395)
The other piece of news regarding the pricing of the ZR1X is the gas guzzler tax. The configurator is now showing that its $2,600 regardless of its aero package.
We checked with FuelEconomy.gov and still do not yet see a listing of the 2026 Corvette ZR1X and its official fuel economy numbers, but now that we know Chevy has its gas guzzler tax, it should just be a matter of days before it shows on the website.
A Corvette Wave goes out to Clark for the heads up!

It’s hard to believe the ZR1X is already getting a price increase before it was ever made available to the general public!

SO NOT TOO BAD AT ALMOST 242 THOUSAND DOLLARS. A NEW CHEVROLET CORVETTE WORLD RECORD MSRP, WHAT’S YOUR ZR1x GOING TO BE?
Hey, I forgot something very sad, $6.590 is now the 2026 new cost just to get this beautiful and powerful Corvette ZR1x Convertible to the National Corvette Museum for your very cool delivery ceremony.
$1495 – Museum Delivery
$2495 – Every Corvette destination charge
$2600 – just the ZR1x Federal Gas Guzzler Tax donation to Trump, is this a IRS tax deduction?
Wow, $6,600 just for buying a new Corvette! What went wrong?
OMG what a bunch of cry babies! I have a 2023 3lt stingray convertible and it’s just awesome and you can buy them really reasonably. The zr1x is an ultra special automobile and GM should charge whatever they feel they can get for it. You think Mercedes BMW Audi Lamborghini and especially Ferrari do you think they don’t try to get the maximum for their vehicles? Come on you cry babies shut up!
Mary and her band of merry minstrels will be getting a huge bonus in a couple of weeks. Not so bad in this crappy economy where 60% of Americans are struggling to put food on the table. Don’t forget the thousands of homeless veterans.
E-Ray. Half the cost, half the power. Still all you need on the street.
I hope GM produces enough of the ZR1X so that there are no ADMs. Additionally, I hope GM does okay since we don’t need that entity to have financial issues. Note that as of tight now, GM is worth less than Carvana – yes, less! (Market capitalization of $73 billion compared to $94 billion).
Hard to justify spending $115,000 more than I paid for my 2023 3LZ HTC Z51. Yes the ZR1x is a monster, but not twice as much a monster. How fast do you really need to go? And where you going to drive it as fast as it goes. My roads are limited for speeds above 120 without a chance for a ticket.
Jeff – seek help or your TDS.
Jeff – seek help for your TDS.
Tell him again Rick,he may just get it a 3rd time. Remind him the Guzzler tax has been in effect for 47 years,Trump didn’t start it. It was the first environment boondoggle, one of many since.
Jeff – The gas guzzler tax has been around for decades now and has nothing to do with our favorite president. In 2008 my neighbor bought a brand new Viper and paid a $3000 gas guzzler tax.
Not sure the lengthy description was necessary – just wasting bandwidth. Everyone that wants to can go to the configurator. For some unknown reason some are complaining about the price of a “Corvette” out of context. This is not a base corvette. This is a top of the line Corvette. In 1967 not every Corvette was an L88 big block convertible. They made 327 small block Corvettes too.
Does Ferrari care about their customers? Does Ferrari give you C8 ZR1 level performance for $200,000? Or are they all about the money (like someone said about GM)? Pick your targets more carefully.
