Alright, Corvette fans! Here is some more ordering news that came out this week. On Thursday, the latest constraints dropped from Chevrolet to dealers and we also had another round of allocations granted to dealers. We are hearing once again that allocations covered just the four current C8 models from Stingray to ZR1 with mum being the word on the ZR1X.
Of course, yesterday is when we learned also about a stealth price increase on all 2026 Corvettes as their destination fees are going up by $500 to a total of $2,495. GM says they need to adjust these charges “periodically” to make sure they are in line with the overall industry average. Again, the 2025 Corvette delivery fee in January this year was $1,695 so how much exactly are those other manufactures paying to make this price increase fall within the industry average? I’m also convinced this will hurt R8C Museum Deliveries as now it will be nearly $4,000 to pick up your Corvette at the NCM with these new price increases.
ZR1 prices were also increased by $1,600 across the board on all trims, but we’re not really crying over that increase. “Totally worth it,” is the word we hear from owners. So just thank the Corvette Team for making such a great car and then and go on with your bad selves.
Okay, back to the main topic now. Yesterday, dealers also got the constraints for the December 2025 Corvette Order Cycle and it’s pretty much the same options that we have seen for much of 2026’s orders. Unfortunate about the big brakes. For street driven cars, not necessary anyway. One has to wonder if the aftermarket will carry service parts like that in the future because so few cars will be out there that need them. GM likes to discontinue parts/inventory as soon as they can…
If GM shows an option on the Configurator they should have to provide that option. Or don’t show it. End of discussion.
That delivery charge stings when you pay extra for museum delivery. It’s just pure profit for them to move the car 100 yards and make the same amount of cash as if delivered across country.
I totally agree GM should not charge the same delivery charge for a Museum Delivery. it should be the same price for delivery. They should not charge you twice for the same thing. But come to think of it they are going that on Brake Calipers and Seat Belts. Black is free but a color costs $ 700 Dollars? Really give me a break while I understand making a profit at least make it reasonable and not a rip off. It makes GM look like all they care about is the money. We know that it doesn’t cost them that much to give us a different color, come on GM care about the customers a little, the car is expensive as it is.
