Chevrolet has some big news for us today with an exciting update on the 2026 Corvette ZR1X that includes pricing and details on a new ZR1X limited edition!

The 1,250-hp hypervette was first introduced back on June 17th. Since then, it’s become the fastest American car at the Nürburgring with a lap time of 6 minutes 49.275 seconds and is even quicker than the mighty Corvette ZR1! As you can imagine, interest in this car is sky high so let’s go through the details.

The 2026 Corvette ZR1X will also be available in a special Quail Silver Limited Edition model. It will be offered in Corvette’s first matte production exterior paint called Blade Silver Matte. Chevrolet says the color was inspired by the Inca Silver exterior color that was featured on the 1957-1959 Corvettes. The limited edition ZR1X will be introduced on August 15 at “The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering” in Carmel, California as part of Monterey Car Week.

“Corvettes are the pride and joy of their owners – this has been true since we first began selling the nameplate more than 70 years ago. They honor its craftmanship and design as much as its engineering excellence,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Global Chevrolet. “The ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition presents a highly exclusive option for Corvette customers looking for a collectible item.”

The ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition will also include a Sky Cool & Medium Ash Gray interior with Habanero accents. This is one of the new interior color schemes available on all 2026 Corvette models. They will also feature orange-painted calipers, black exhaust tips, and carbon flash painted mirrors. Each vehicle will display a Limited Edition plaque on the interior waterfall speaker and each build is identified with its build number.

“The Design team is always looking to innovate, and the Blade Silver Matte paint color marks a significant moment for Corvette as the first factory matte paint in 60 years,” said Phil Zak, executive design director of Global Chevrolet. “This new finish creates a distinctly high-end feel and offers a rare chance to own a truly unique expression of Corvette.”

Also joining the Quail Silver Limited Edition Corvette ZR1X on August 15 at “The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering” is the debut of GM Design’s inspiration for the future of Corvette, so stay tuned for that!

  1. It’s what people wanted. Exclusive paint color. I like it. Though I do wish that they would offer body-color painted trim bits, instead of just the CF. Including the frunk grille. That would create a more monolithic, one-piece look.

Imagine if the 57-59 Corvettes like this had garish black accents on the sides.

  2. How about a Grand Sport with a widebody, blown version of the base engine, and a manual transmission.

  3. Quail Silver? Are they kidding? You might as well name it Snail Silver. Or Hedgehog Silver. Or Sloth Silver. Was this name approved by an AI bot? What happened to the days of naming Corvette colors after racetracks as was done by Chevy’s Joe Pike back in the 1970’s – Laguna (Seca Raceway) Gray Metallic; Steel Cities (International Raceway) Gray Firemist; Watkins Glen Green; etc.). At any rate, it’s good to know that Corvette paint colors have finally caught up to the other matte finishes: The 2013 Cadillac CTS-V (Silver Frost Matte), the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V (Crystal White Frost Matte), and the 2024 Camaro (Panther Black Matte). I’m so mad, I’m gonna have to make myself another Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned. Robert Casey, author, All Corvette Colors, Codes & Quantities

  4. What a bunch of naysayer ninnies! The color looks great. The name is just fine. The trim looks great and highlights the lines of the car, which are different than the 57-59 Vettes, obviously. HAHA and one post said the “greedy” dealer markup of $50k. Uhm, no, with this limited edition and a limited run of ZR1x’s it’s going to be at least $100k. And “greedy”…well, that’s the free market for you. Limited supply, high demand means the price of the item will go up. It’s no different with anything else, be it rare baseball cards or rare automobiles.

Just had to come here and make a positive statement. So tired of guys with their underwear all bunched up and dissing this great piece of engineering.

  5. Wow … Are you kidding … thank you for actually building these incredible cars … put me on the list for one of these babies and paint it any color you want !

  6. Another big money grab by GM, they built less than 500 “ Regular” ZR1’s for 2025, then the ZR1X and now this special edition, what will production look like for 2026?

  7. If they built the 1958 Inca Silver Convertible instead, that might be worth it! But there are many, many other cars I would buy for half the money than the $241k ZR1X! GM has lost its mind! When I see a ZR1 on the road I’ll know a sucker is driving it!!!

  8. GM needs to look at Harley Davidson for some lessons on how to lose. Crummy dealerships and wild overpricing are dangerous!
