Specialty Auto Auction is Offering These Corvettes at the May 9th Sale in Greeley, Colorado

Specialty Auto Auction has been specializing in classic and collector vehicle sales in Colorado since 1987 and their next auction is coming up on Saturday, May 9th at the Island Grove Event Center in Greely, CO.

The consignment list features a number of classic cars & trucks, street rods, and muscle cars. Currently there are nearly 80 vehicles consigned to the sale including these five Corvettes.

The good news is that you need not be present to bid on these great Corvettes. Specialty Auto Auctions uses Proxibid to allow remote online bidding. Sign up today at Proxibid.com.

Here are the five Corvettes offered at the sale:

1959 Corvette

1959 Corvette

The 1959 Corvette model year did have some updates from the previous year, namely the deletion of the washboard hood and the chrome spears on the trunk. The dash was also updated to provide drivers a better view of the relevant gauges. GM was already using the phrase “America’s Sports Car” in its advertising and it’s hard to think of any Corvette more period-correct than a C1 roadster in Red with White accents.

Lot #40 is a 1959 Corvette Roadster painted in Roman Red with White coves and accompanied by a matching red interior. It’s powered by Chevy’s 283ci V8 engine with an upgraded MSD ignition, and it’s mated with a 4-speed manual transmission. The Corvette features two tops, the hard top shown on the car and a convertible soft top.

The listing refers to the Corvette’s condition as “original” and it certainly presents itself nicely with the description saying, “nice paint, interior and chrome.” The wide white wall tires with the two-finned wheel covers offers some great curb appeal as well.

1965 Corvette

1965

The 1965 Corvette model year was significant with a number of new options available for the Sting Ray which included four-wheel disc brakes. But collectors know that it was also the first year of Corvette’s big block era with the introduction of the L78 396/425 V8. The new engine arrived in March 1965, and it included the new hood design with a large central bulge.

This 1965 Corvette Convertible is Lot #56 and it’s a numbers-matching car documented with NCRS certification, NCRS shipping data report, window sticker, and the owner’s manual. This Sting Ray was finished in new factory Silver Pearl with a Black interior and it was optioned with a four-speed manual transmission, factory power steering, side exhaust, teakwood steering wheel, and original date-code correct knock-off wheels which have been restored.

Only 2,157 Corvettes in 1965 included the big block option and this Corvette has been well-maintained and stored in a climate-controlled facility.

1987 Corvette

1987 Corvette

C4s represent a very affordable entry point to the Corvette hobby and this one-owner 1987 Corvette certainly fits the bill. If you’re looking for an affordable Corvette that’s ready for you to jump in and enjoy today, this could be the one. This Corvette has recently undergone a tune up with an oil change and coolant flush, and it received a new battery and tires. An extra set of original wheels and tires are included with the sale.

Lot #75 is a 1987 Corvette Coupe powered by the 5.7-liter L98 V8 engine that produced 240-hp. Drivers will love shifting through the 4-speed manual transmission and the description calls it a “super fun car to drive.”

This 1987 Corvette was outfitted with a Yellow exterior and Black interior, and photos show the Corvette’s digital dash lit up and working as it should. The car is showing 131K miles on the odometer and it does feature an aftermarket radio.

1998 Corvette

1998 Corvette

The 1998 Corvette model year was the 2nd of the C5 generation which ran from 1997 through 2004 and the automotive media loved the redesign, awarding the 1998 model as the North American Car of the Year. The C5s were the first Corvettes to feature a hydroformed steel frame and the car’s transaxle was mounted in the rear which provided a near 50/50 weight distribution.

This 1998 Corvette Coupe is Lot #77 and it’s powered by a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 rated at 345 horsepower and paired with an automatic transmission. Finished in Torch Red with a Light Gray interior, it has its original 17″/18″ five-spoke wheels, a limited-slip differential, and a removable body-color roof panel.

Other options for the 1998 Corvette included driver’s seat-position memory settings, a dual-zone automatic climate control, and Bose sound system. The digital odometer shows the mileage to be 57,449. The listing says this Corvette has been well-maintained and garage-kept.

2007 Corvette

2007 Corvette

Lot number 10 is a 2007 Corvette offered in Monterey Red with a Tan (Beige) leather interior. It’s powered by the final year of the LS2 6.0-liter V8 engine and a paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The current odometer reading shows 79,441 miles.

The C6 Coupe is also equipped with a transparent removable roof panel, chrome exhaust tips, and 18″/19″ five-spoke alloy wheels. Inside are power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a Head Up Display (HUD).

This 2007 Corvette was recently serviced at a Chevrolet dealership and is said to have new tires.
