Early on in my Corvette journey, I was told there are two types of Corvette owners, polishers and drivers. With his 2023 Corvette Z06 now showing 45,000 miles on the odometer, Jesse Iwuji definitely falls into the driver category.
Our good friend Clarence from the CGarnerSpeed252 YouTube Channel recently caught up with Jesse who tells us all about his 2023 VIN 034 Corvette Z06 Coupe, where he has driven and it, and his overall impressions of the sports car after three years of ownership.
Jesse walks us through some of the very positive experiences about the Z06 including the times he has had the car out on the track, and he offers some real-world advice about those experiences. He also walks us through some of the changes he has made to the car to make it better.
And for those perspective Z06 buyers, Jesse also briefly talks about his E-Ray and how it’s very different than the Z06, and he also goes over those things that he calls the bad, and the ugly! Well balanced review. Unfortunate that he experienced one of the famous transmission issues, but this is a 2023 car. My understanding is that 2024+ transmissions got better. Z06 is still a significant part of production today. But ZR1 production is ramping up. And rumors are out there that a widebody Grand Sport will be announced soon. So one has to wonder what will happen to the Z06 model over time as it gets squeezed from both below and above.
Addendum: With Grand Sport coming out, is there still a need for a Z51 Stingray? So many choices for track…
Not sure why you put the word “ugly” in all caps in the headline. The ugly Jesse described didn’t seem all that ugly to me.
