Remember the collective gasp heard ’round the world when Mark Reuss introduced the new 2020 Corvette Stingray with a starting MSRP of $59,995 and that was with the $1,095 Destination Fee baked into the price? Oh yes…those were some good times back then. Fast forward to the start of the 2027 model year which Chevrolet started producing on June 8th and the base model Stingray was being sold for $73,495 (which includes a $2,495 destination fee).

We can’t really argue that it’s the same car as all Corvette models have seen updates and other enhancements over the last few years. That includes an interior refresh across all models in 2026 and a new base LS6 V8 engine for Stingrays and Grand Sports that arrived for the 2027 model year.

It’s just that when Chevy raises prices, we always hope they’ll stay all that level for longer than just a few months. Chevrolet had already raised prices significantly prior to the start of the 2027 model year. Now, we have word of another across-the-board price increase as Corvette’s newest owners are the ones paying for those enhancements and other mid-cycle upgrades.

Chevrolet has raised the base prices of all 2027 Corvette models by $300 across the board. The price increase was made effective on September 28th, and the new prices are now showing on the Corvette Build and Price Configurators.

Chevrolet apparently didn’t tell dealers about the pricing update via a memo or other communications either.

With the price increase being made effective on 9/28, that means all orders for the October 2026 order cycle which will be finalized tomorrow are getting the new pricing. If your car was ordered prior to 9/28 then the old pricing should be locked in for you.

I reached out to Chevrolet PR for a statement on the price increase and we’ll update this post when and if we get an answer.
