[VIDEO] New World Record in the Quarter Mile for the C8 Corvette ZR1

When the C8 Stingray first came out, we had several tuners who stepped up their game and there was a real race going on for the title of the world’s fastest C8 Corvette. But then the Z06 came out, and we just didn’t see that same kind of enthusiasm for making the cars go faster and breaking records as we saw before. As Emelia said about her Z06 at the time, it’s just too good of a car to mess with.

Now it’s the C8 ZR1’s turn, and owners are starting to see what it can do at the track. So far, it’s been a mixed bag with several races happening in the dead of summer when speed-killing humidity was at its worst. But now we’ve got word that a new world record has been set for the ZR1 in the quarter mile.

To be honest, I am not sure what the current fastest drag time is for the C8 Corvette ZR1, so we’re just going to take their word for it. The video short comes from Jesse Iwuji and the car is owned by “Supercharged Eray,” but we were unable to find an account for that name on the socials.

Officially, the ZR1’s quarter mile time as released by Chevrolet is 9.6 seconds at 150 mph, but the video below shows that official time and trap speed was beaten in the video below.

The ZR1 is wearing drag radials and the rear wing was removed to help decrease drag on the car. We’re sensing a trend here as Street Speed 717 has been running his ZR1 without the wing while another ZR1 owner we’ve been following has seen his quarter mile speeds increased by around 4-5 mph with the large rear wing removed from the car.

As for this “world record” run, a dragy was used to capture it as well as the different data points which you can see here:

0-60 mph: 2.34s

My friend @superchargederay on I just lit the world on fire with his new C8 ZR1 1/4 mi record! Holy moly, what a way to shut the haters up! 9.3 out of a bone stock C8 ZR1 on a good tire?!! Imagine once it actually gets cold outside. This car ran in 538’ DA….lets see what it does in -500 to -1000 DA when the time comes!
