A two-owner big-block 1968 Corvette T-top coupe is being offered on Craigslist by its Beloit, Wisconsin owner.
This “unrestored, original, numbers-matching 427/390” Stingray still wears the same original Lemans Blue paint that it wore when sold new by Nickey Chevrolet, though the paint has been touched up over the years. Still, it “shines and shows beautifully,” the seller says.
Inside, you’ll find a blue vinyl interior, described as “super nice 8/10” by the owner. The teakwood steering wheel is a nice touch, the original AM/FM stereo functions “perfectly,” and all the gauges still work, even the usually long-gone clock “when it chooses to,” he quips.
Indeed, “everything works as it should,” according to the listing.
That includes the original L36 427 that “runs smooth as can be,” with “no smoke, no noises” on 91 octane. That engine was a $200.17 option back in the day and was the most popular 427 choice with 7,717 sold. Likewise, the automatic transmission “works perfectly.”
With 23,600 miles (claimed to be documented by records), this ’68 even comes with a copy of the original title, the original owner’s manual, and extensive documentation.
The seller is asking $42,000 but concludes the listing by saying a reasonable offer “could make it yours.” What would you be willing to pay for this beauty?
Update: We mistakenly identified the transmission as a manual when the photos showed it’s an automatic. We have made the correction and thanks to those who reached out to us about it.

The transmission may well work perfectly, but the interior pic above clearly shows that it is an automatic, not a four-speed manual.
Beautiful C3, by the way!
I agree with DougR. It clearly is NOT a 4 speed!
That impacts the value tremendously.
Yes,it’s clearly an auto, but still a really nice big block 68 in great condition and mileage.
Pictures are very nice, but it’s listed as a manual 4 speed transmission, but your photo shows automatic?
Please send pictures of the advertised 68′ 427 4-speed car as this is not the one pictured?
When were all the fluids replaced?
Are there any fluid leaks?
Do the t-tops leak?
Tire age?
Do the headlight mech work properly?
Do the wipers work?
Please more pictures engine, underneath, trunk, battery compartment.
Kind regards
