You'll Never Guess the Location of Where This 1967 Corvette Sting Ray Is Being Offered for Sale

Over the course of 70+ years, the Chevrolet Corvette has been undisputed as America’s Favorite Sports Car. But the car is also loved around the world. Those who really got the Corvette Fever would go many great lengths to export the cars to foreign lands far away.

Sometimes these cars come up on our radar and it’s fun to speculate just exactly how the cars got to their present locations. This morning, we’ve spotted a classic Ermine White 1967 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible in what looks to be very good condition that is being offered for sale in an unexpected country. Care the guess the location before I spill the beans?

Bueller? Bueller?

The C2 Corvette is THE iconic Corvette design so it’s no surprise to see the car offered for sale in various countries around the world. With only 22,940 Corvettes built in 1967, there probably aren’t too many that were exported in terms of sheer numbers. However, seeing this 1967 Corvette offered in the capital city of Iran was somewhat of an eye opener. I guess it shouldn’t really surprise us as Tehran was once a very westernized city up until 1979 and the Islamic Revolution that changed everything.

The ad for this 1967 Corvette was shared on the r/Corvette reddit, so we’re relying on the post for these details. According to the OP, the 1967 Corvette was posted for sale on the Iranian version of Craigslist called Divar. Based on the exchange rate, it’s being sold for roughly $240,000 USD.

Corvette For Sale

The original posting goes on to say that American cars were popular up until the 1979 Revolution and even afterwards they would continue to come into the country via Kuwait or Dubai. He goes on to say that there are still a large number of Corvettes in the country, but not many pre-70s models.

The world loves Corvettes, and hopefully the person that comes to own this pre-revolution relic will appreciate it for the freedom and independence that the American sports car represents.
