Here’s one that would leave the boys at WD Detailing salivating!
Said to have been discovered as a “true barn find” in East Tennessee, this 1974 Corvette convertible includes a very thick layer of dust and debris along with its $2,900 asking price.
The Craigslist ad presents confusing information, claiming in the listing write-up that the car is located in Washington, D.C., but the graphic on the side shows it’s in Portland, Oregon.
We spotted this C3 on Barn Finds, where readers seem to be concerned with the legitimacy of the car.
But if the photos and information are indeed accurate, however, this Stingray could live up to the seller’s claim that it’s “a rare gem and an ideal restoration project.”
The most impressive thing about the car is that it is said to have the more desirable – and powerful – L82 350 V8 under the nasty hood. No claims are made about its current condition, however, though with 80,000 claimed miles, it should have some life left in it.
Adding to the desirability is the factory hardtop that is still in place on the car, one of 2,612 ‘74s to leave the St. Louis factory so equipped. Again, though, no word on the condition of the ragtop that should be under the decklid.
The car is equipped with an automatic transmission and the upgraded Custom Interior Trim, but it’s hard to tell the condition of either, especially in the inside of the car that is coated with dust like the outside.
The listing says the paint color is “custom,” though it appears to be black to us (not a shade offered in ’74), and the rear bumper, which should have a split down the middle, looks to be in one piece (though with all the dirt, it’s hard to ascertain for sure).
We’d love to see what this car would look like after a good cleaning in and out, and maybe a new owner will share photos of his handiwork if a deal can be struck.

If this weren’t a scam, it would be gone by now.
This posting is very suspicious.
i will give 3500
WD Detailing is legit. They have been on YouTube for years.
My concern is the amount of work to reclaim the car. Figure at least $10k if you can DIY it… otherwise, ouch. Cleaning, replacing… all the rubber is suspect… tires, hoses, lines, belts, seals, gaskets. Again, ouch.
Love to get my hands on that l82 would you take $2000 ?
3000$
