When I was a young kid, I was into Corvettes and 18 wheelers. When my dad had to make an emergency trip to Atlanta to deliver carpet, he promised to let me ride along in the tractor trailer — the ultimate thrill for a kid who loved big rigs. Even when he switched plans and took a station wagon instead, I didn’t hesitate. I loved the wide open feel of those long roofs and big windows, the way they made the world seem larger.
This 1968 Corvette Sportwagon feels like the perfect mash up of those childhood obsessions — the sleek fantasy of a C3 blended with the long roof practicality of a wagon. It’s the kind of car that makes me smile before I even scroll to the details, and I keep half expecting Davey Jones of The Monkees to pop his head out of the window and start singing.
From there, Bring a Trailer’s listing only gets more delightfully strange.
Originally a 1968 convertible, this car later received the full Eckler’s Sportwagon conversion: a shooting brake roof, removable roof panel, fixed headlights tucked under the chrome bumper, flared fenders, and a towering cowl induction hood. It’s the kind of build that triggers instant nostalgia.

The car sits at $16,000 with three days left, and the comments section is already a mix of admiration, curiosity, and comedic despair.
