[STOLEN] 2026 Corvette ZR1 Stolen From California Man's Driveway

If you owned a $300,000 Corvette, would you leave it sitting in your driveway with the security system turned off in the middle of the night?

A Santa Clarita, California man did just that — and now his “dream car,” a 2026 Corvette ZR1, is gone.

Surveillance footage shows thieves using a repo-style tow truck to brazenly haul away the supercar in the middle of the night, taking less than a minute to load it up and leaving its owner, Mario Jaramillo, heartbroken.

The orange wrapped Corvette, accented with blue rimmed wheels, vanished around 3:50 a.m. Thursday, according to a neighbor’s camera. Jaramillo, 57, told the New York Post he discovered the theft hours later when he stepped outside and realized his prized car was missing.

“I went to the front of my house nonchalantly and saw that my car was gone,” he said. “I was numb.”

Deputies at the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station confirmed a stolen vehicle report was filed at 9:30 a.m. The Corvette’s GPS system had been disabled shortly after the theft.

Jaramillo, a lawyer with Access Lawyers Group, said he had customized the ZR1 with ambient lighting and a high end audio system, making it “one of one.”

“I just wanted to have fun with it,” he said. “These people took the fun out of it.”

His wife, Laurel Jaramillo, posted on Instagram that the Corvette was fully paid off and not being repossessed.

“This car meant everything to him,” she wrote, urging people sharing the video to “please be kind and helpful.”

Mario says he was able to make new relationships with the car. “It helped me build a community,” he explained. “Car enthusiasts who would come up to me and ask, ‘What does it take to get a car like this?’ It was motivational for young people in their 20s.'”

Jaramillo said he felt safe parking the valuable Corvette in his driveway because other high-end cars line the neighborhood.

“It feels like we’re sitting ducks,” he said. “For some reason they targeted me. Where’s the extra patrols? HOA?”

The theft remains under investigation.

Jaramillo doubts he’ll ever see the Corvette again.

“I think the car is long gone,” he said. “Probably shipped out of the country. But at the end of the day, it’s a material loss — it can be replaced. What I want is for them to catch the thieves so this doesn’t happen to other people.”
