Corvettes for Sale: Numbers Matching 400-hp Tri-Power 1969 Corvette on Craigslist

If a stock 1969 Corvette just isn’t enough for you, try this Stingray coupe that’s been “thoughtfully updated for modern reliability and smooth driving,” according to its current owner.

The car is on consignment at a Nevada City, California dealership, where the asking price is $42,900.

The seller says he’s focused on performance and drivability, and now the car is said to run and drive “great – delivering that unmistakable blend of raw classic power with upgraded reliability.”

This vintage chrome-bumper ‘Vette still includes its numbers-matching L68 427/400 horsepower tri-power big-block V8, but numerous mechanical upgrades have also been made throughout the car, including new tires and battery, new braking system (calipers, discs, and pads), new rear end, suspension, and leaf springs, new exhaust system, upgraded cooling system with aluminum components, and functional headlights and fiber optics.

After originally leaving the St. Louis factory in Riverside Gold, the car was repainted years ago in Raspberry Metallic, “giving it a unique and bold presence,” according to the listing. Also adding to the visual appeal of this car are tinted glass T-tops and a period-correct Grant-style steering wheel, along with a black interior that’s in excellent condition.

It’s hard to find fault with a chrome-bumper C3, either in performance or looks, and this one has now been brought into the 21st century in both areas. Would it look perfect in your garage?

  1. This car would look right at home sitting in my garage! I love the great color and everything about it! It checks off all the boxes and there is nothing not to like about it.

  2. They all are ‘great’ and note worthy.. but to the suspose ‘wizard’ on vehicle long ago… Tri-Power was a Pontiac marketing term.. not Chevy or any other. It would be nice to hear these so called experts use the proper term/description for article vehicles. But of course they would have to know to do so. Teach the younger facts, note roll off terms.

  3. Beautiful car. It has everything going for it. I’d like to be kept updated on what goes on with it

  4. I have a 69 427 t-top this Vette does not have the. Correct hood among other things there is no way it’s worth 42k
