Brighter days are definitely ahead for this 1959 Corvette convertible, but the process certainly includes some soap and water first.

A member of the same family for the past 50 years, this ‘Vette was dragged into a Tennessee barn about six years ago (after being ignored the previous decade in a garage). Said barn is also being used to raise gamecocks, and the hens and roosters create quite a bit of dust as they strut around their nearby cages.

Not surprisingly after six years of being neighbors with these feisty critters, this Corvette has a serious layer of dust by now – so thick in fact that the guys at WD Detailing say they can’t even tell what color it is!

The car has now been gifted to a good friend of the family named Anthony, who plans to begin a restoration that will be fully documented on a YouTube channel.

First, though, WD Detailing is going to help out by removing as much of the yucky gamecock dirt as possible. The cleaning process reveals that the car has been repainted in a darker shade of red, but amazingly by the time the guys finish their work, the car winds up looking pretty decent for being ignored so long.

You can watch the cleanup all the way through on WD Detailing’s channel, including when Anthony gets to take his first peek at his future project. Since this is his first Corvette, he asks viewers for their input about which direction he should take – a stock restoration or a restomod. What would you suggest?

  1. Keeping as much stock as possible, I’d go with a restomod. Reason being is so you could drive it more reliably without the headache of using reproduction parts. Restomods have shown to be quite valuable in recent years.

  2. my parents owned a 58 60 62 nonfulie cars all the were money pit and problems.i would resto mod rather than go old school or stock
