If you want a vintage C2 Corvette and make sure it’s authentic, you might be wise to check out this powerful 1966 coupe with an impressive lineage.

Currently being offered on Bring a Trailer out of North Carolina, this Nassau Blue Sting Ray was once owned by an NCRS master judge and was even used for NCRS training for judges. No surprise then that between 1998 and 2004 it earned 10 NCRS Top Flight Awards and in 1999 also received the NCRS Star Award for Preservation Excellence that recognizes Corvettes preserved to a high standard while remaining in original condition.

Those awards were more than 20 years ago now, and the car isn’t in absolutely perfect condition these days, with various imperfections in the paint pointed out in some of the listing photos.

Despite those minor flaws, however, we’re sure there are more than a few enthusiasts out there who would just love to climb behind the wheel and take it for a spin.

In addition to that rebuild, the age of which is not mentioned in the listing, other mechanicals have been updated, including the oil cap, ignition shield cover, fuel pump, distributor cap, radiator cap, fan clutch, valve covers, radiator, heater hoses, belts, and plug wires.

The car is nicely equipped, with power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, telescopic teakwood steering wheel, AM/FM radio, 15-inch wheels with faux knockoff wheel covers, 205/75 Goodyear Regatta 2 tires, fully independent suspension, Holley four-barrel carburetor, heater, and black leather interior.

If your heart desires a perfect C2 trailer queen, this isn’t the car for you. But if you want an authentic experience with a Corvette that obviously has been carefully maintained over the decades and also boasts an absolutely beautiful color combination, you might ought to join the bidding on this ’66.
