With all the uncertainty surrounding the latest Corvette ordering cycle and the status of those first ZR1 orders that were submitted last month, we thought we’d ask around to a few dealers to see what they have heard.
Their responses can be summed up in one word: Crickets…
Orders for those first ZR1s opened up one month ago on February 13th but then the following week they started backsliding from 3000 status (schedule for production) to holding at 2000 status. While GM may be working to get high wings for customers, we really have no clue what is happening. Dealers have even reported to us that not even their Zone Managers have any information for them.
As for ordering the other three models, that appears to be on hold as well. Today was supposed to be the start of ordering for the March 2025 order cycle but no allocations were granted for the Stingray, E-Ray, or Z06 last week when expected. I asked a couple reps about the rumors of 2025 Corvette model year being extended, but according to them…. more crickets!
GM originally distributed End of Model Year dates to dealers in January that showed March was supposed to be the last month for ordering a 2025. The model year was said to end on May 30th and the start of 2026s would begin on June 2nd. However, some dealers now have target production weeks (TPWs) for upcoming orders that have spilled into June. With no guidance, dealers can’t really respond to customers questions about ordering with any clarity.
And then there is this. Not only are new orders not going in, but there are also some cases where the orders were placed months ago and there has been no movement. One dealer says he had an order for a 2025 Z06 with a high wing that was accepted for production back during October 24, and that car is still at 3000 status with no TPW.
Crickets…
Our dealer friends have promised to let us know the first they hear of any movements with ZR1. Until then, stay tuned!

I ordered a 2025 corvette eray coupe on February 28th 2025 approximately when will I get my car and will it be a 2025 or a 2026
They are trying to clear out excess inventory. The local dealerships here are busting at the seams with new 2024 and 2025 SRs, Zs, and Erays. Plus there are tons of used C8s for sale. Guess they will blame Trump for causing a recession in his first month in office.
Anyone have information on the Trip to “Tail of the Dragon”, is it still open and what are the dates $$$? Grateful for any information, Thank you in advance!!!
0 sympathy. They have been OPUD for the entire run of C8. And they’d have 1 less ER sitting on dealer lots if they hadn’t screwed up the paint offerings.
At this point, it is already too late to get an allocation for a 75th anniversary model. GM cannot possibly keep up.
Let’s think about it , no Tadge , no Kirk , no Harlan , and no answers. . No one to turn to !!
Supply chain and import export revolution on the way. They knew since November 24 it was a sure things so if BG can figure it all out during the three weeks pause more power to them. I got mine but at this point an already built SR C8 waiting to be bought is the definition of it is never going to get better than this.
On I-65 to Louisville this past week I passed 3 truck loads running north, lots of Z06’s on them.
