Our friend Rick Corvette Conti shared some more breaking news late on Wednesday related to the end of the 2025 model year and the start up dates for 2026. This is always a big announcement and thanks to Rick for sleuthing this info out!
Rick tells us that the 2025 ZR1’s start of regular production (SORP) is still to be determined. However, the first allocation cycle will begin on February 13th with ordering happening on February 20th. Preorders for the 2025 ZR1 can be entered by dealers on January 23rd.
The order buildout date for the 2025 Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray is May 30th and the last order date for these models will be March 20th.
The ordering for 2026 model year Corvettes will start initial entries on April 3rd and the first allocations will come on April 17th. The start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 Corvette model year is June 2nd.
Rick also shared the production specs of the two 2025 Corvette ZR1s built this week with saleable VINs:
The first VIN 001 Corvette ZR1 is a Yellow Coupe with 3LZ Jet Black interior featuring Yellow Stitching, Yellow Seat Belts, and Competition Sport Seats. It also has the Coupe engine appearance package with the engine closeouts, engine lighting, and engine specifications plaque. It also has Front Lift, Yellow Brake Calipers, Carbon Fiber door sills, Stealth Interior Package, Carbon Fiber Split Window painted in Body Color, Carbon Fiber Aero Package, Level 2 carbon fiber interior, Visible Carbon Fiber Wheels, and the ZTK Performance Package.
The VIN 002 Corvette ZR1 is an Arctic White Coupe with 3LZ Jet Black interior featuring Yellow Stitching and Yellow Seat Belts, Engine Appearance Package, Carbon Fiber Sill Plates, Competition Seats, Carbon Fiber Aero Package, Front Lift, Stealth Interior Package, Carbon Fiber Split Window painted in Body Color, Level 2 Carbon Fiber interior, Yellow Calipers, Black exhaust tips, and Visible Carbon Fiber Wheels. If they are auctioning the vin 001 ZR1 at the Barrett, these two production ZR1’s must have other vin numbers….say 002 and 003. Right?
Hendrick will buy those 2 also.
don’t bother announcing they’re for sale–Hendrick gets the first one.
It seems confusing but think of it this way: There are three stages of development and each stage has a VIN 001 car. The third and last stage is specifically for retail buyers. That’s the car that is being auctioned at Barrett Jackson. These cars that were just built are the 2nd stage specifically for GM’s use, but they can be sold to dealers when GM is done with them.
Am I to understand that GM keeps curtailing production a full quarter earlier each year? Wasn’t 2023 out to December, and 2024 nixed in Sept, and now 2025 getting the axe in May? At this rate, SORP for 2027’s will be Jan 2026.
